Really great song, even if it is pretty depressing to listen too. Not many songs can make you feel like that. Kind of reminds me of this.

To be honest this is what I anticipated. I was thinking Clapton, Zep, Who, Doors, etc with some of the one hit wonders thrown in (Verve Pipe, Nightranger, etc). But hey, then I got thinking, there has to be some sort of message we can pull from this about our generation if most of these songs are dance/techno. And people are entitled to their own opinion. EDIT: world class song that isn't necessarily famous - Verve Pipe, The Freshmen. Mungo Jerry, In the Summertime. The Wallflowers, One Headlight. There are lots of lesser known amazing songs. You should have added the word "classic" to world class songs then.... For example, the first song that popped into my mind when i read amazing song was: Ratatat, Glock nines But considering the point of your thread i will go with: Pearl jam, come back

World class can mean anything depending on who you ask. Personally I was tempted to post from Biggie to 2pac to Wiz to Kanye. I just went with Creed cause I felt like that outlasts trends and time. And to be honest, if this thread goes long enough I'm confident most super-famous bands and songs will be touched upon.

Considering what you're looking for, your choice of a Creed song seems even stranger than I initially thought. Although, there are certainly some eclectic tastes in this thread. For me, this question is pretty easy. Song: "Sister Ray" - Band: The Velvet Underground - Album: White Light/White Heat This isn't my number 1 favorite song. That being said, if I could force everyone on earth to listen to one song, this would probably it. Find the whole album.

To the contrary, I chose Creed for the same reasoning you chose (that is, if there was one song everyone should listen to...). I expected that every favorite Clapton, Hendrix, Zep, Who song of mine would eventually be posted (Tears in Heaven, All Along the Watchtower, Kashmir, Pinball Wizard if you were wondering).
