my gf has Comcast internet with tv, and there's an Arris modem/router combo and a cable box. her internet periodically loses connection. Comcast technician said the signal to the house was good, so my intuition told me that maybe the signal is being diluted by the splitter. i leave the modem/router on, and just unplug the cable that goes from the cable box to the TV for several seconds. i plug it back on, and shortly after the lights on the modem stop blinking and internet comes back on soon. to rule out coincidence or luck, i waited for the connection to die several more times and repeat the same process, which still worked. so i figured the splitter provided was weak, so i got a better one -- but the connection still dies off occasionally. any suggestions? | ||

if purpose is how you make sense of it, then you need to look at it in contexts, higher-order contexts; you'll then see purpose(loosely defined) but you still won't see on purpose. | ||

Depending on industry/sector the weekly workload for a full time job is between 35 to 42 hours. Realities might differ from contracts though. Maximum weeky workload is 48 hrs. 35 hrs: I personally know nobody working 7hrs per day for a full time job. Applies to unionized workers in the metal/steel/wood/paper industry in western Germany. 38 hrs for eastern Germany afaik. 37,5 hrs: retail. equivalent to a 9 to 5 job with the obligatory breakt of 30 mins after no later than 6 hours. Other break distributions, eg. 15mins ever 3 hrs, are also applicable. 38,5 hrs: public servants (although some federal states have different requirements, up to 42 hrs in Hesse) 40 hrs: is what I work in the private sector as an employee. 80 hrs up to as much as possible: is what my boss works as a freelancer France supposedly has a 35 hrs week but nobody believes that. Here's a statistic by the German "Ministry of Statistics" comparing the working hours of European full time workers. | ||
