I hate to break it to you two, but I've been down that road before and persistence doesn't mean jack shit. Your best bet is to sever all ties completely and chase after someone else. You'll fall out of love with her eventually.

I'm on a break right now because of this. It isn't fun getting personal insults thrown at me for a significant number of the games I play. I've played Protoss since release of Wings of Liberty but apparently I only play it to get easy wins (I don't even do blink all-ins or proxies of any type. I play passive macro). I played through all of the worst eras for Protoss in Wings, there was never this level of negativity back then when Protoss was getting trounced on ladder and was sitting at a 30% winrate against Terran in the GSL during 1/1/1 and before the infestor nerfs that made it so Zerg couldn't just make 30 infestors and outright win every game. There was the Sad Zealot fanclub made as a joke but that was it, and everyone knew it was a lighthearted joke. Then again, half the Terran players on here whining now are the same people who claimed that Terran was balanced during the 1/1/1 era and early WOL and that the Terran players at the time were just better. It's complete hypocrisy. They don't care about game balance, only their ego on ladder. A few of them have straight up said they would throw away balance at the pro level so it would be balanced for their ladder level.

Seriously people, grow up and admit your mistakes. The most frustrating thing is playing against all these people who are making very obvious mistakes and then getting cursed out for playing Protoss. I had a Zerg hit me with a timing that is supposed to be a 2/2 roach/hydra timing, he was 1/0. He obviously lost, though his macro had slipped such that it allowed him to make 15 mutas (after scouting I was going air), so he temporarily dragged the game out. I checked the replay and he forgot his evolution chambers and had not injected after around the 9 minute mark for a good 6 minutes. Instead of admitting he screwed his timing up he told me I must be brain damaged and am an idiot for playing Protoss. I mean come on. Me being Protoss also doesn't cause Terran players to have huge slips in macro or prevent them from scouting, even though they claim that scouting Protoss is impossible. The reaper was redesigned as a scout unit yet I never see ladder players make more than one. They make that first one and if they lose it they don't scout outside of scans, but they get mad anyway when they lose to something scouting would have allowed them to prepare for.

I kept track of just how bad things have been getting. In the last 30 games I have played and won, I got 6 ggs (I used to get gg in about half my wins), 5 of which were from other Protoss in PvP, and one Zerg. There was some form of bm in 11 games, usually some form of passive-aggressive crap about Protoss or my apparent lack of skill. A few of them were straight up insults though, wishing various illnesses upon me, racist stuff (I reported them in that case), other forms of discriminatory stuff (calling me retarded, called me a fag, etc. Also reported them).

People wonder why this community is shrinking. It seems pretty obvious to me at this point. The vocal minority is becoming so negative and extreme that they are making all the reasonable people who just want to have fun playing Starcraft go away and this negative attitude is spreading to those who are left. The community is turning into a big echo chamber of negativity that used to be confined to Reddit and the streams of players like Avilo and Destiny (Don't even get me started on those two. They've done more harm to this community than any balance patch or retirement ever could). There's not even a point in trying to have a reasonable conversation in SC2 General anymore about anything related to any matchup because the same 20 ultra-whiny people will turn anything into an argument for no reason other than to try and boost their own egos or validate their perceived imbalances in the game. I don't even know what we can do about it at this point outside of going back to having way more strict posting policies and permabanning people who keep doing this kind of crap. They're ruining it for those of us who simply want to talk about SC.

Haha! You said it, mate. I just go as little into SC2 General as I can these days. And, if I see the usual morons venting their predictable bile, I just exit the thread. It's not worth it. Nor will you change minds by engaging in debate. Idiots are idiots.

My friend made a post on Facebook saying something like:

I made a post saying:
"'tell them sucks' lol"

He got mad at me and said it wasn't funny because he lost money to the bastard. I explained that I was laughing at his sentence because it didn't make sense, not at his getting scammed. His next post said "try not to curse." Idk wtf he meant by this because of his poor English communication skills - if he was talking to me or not. I posted "wtf are you talking about, you called the guy a bastard in one of your earlier posts and I haven't cussed at all in any of my posts." He called me a dumbass because I used the acronym wtf. I told him that it's irritating when he's either telling me not to curse when I haven't at all, or that he's not following his own rule of trying not to curse (because you honestly couldn't tell what he meant) and is a hypocrite. He gets super pissed and starts cussing me out calling me a motherfucker and that if he's a hypocrite then I'm a psycho ass motherfucker and a bunch of other shit. Then he took me off his friends list.

I'm not even mad at him tbh. He was in a bad mood but he was still being a twat. I just wanted to see if anybody else posted in the thread lol. My friend's a pain in the ass. I'll call you out on your shit especially if you're not gonna take the time to make your point clear and insult me for possibly misinterpreting it. Whatever. I think he's more upset with me than I am with him. Maybe in time he'll forget the whole thing even happened and re-add me.

Goddamnit my girlfriend is just retardedly childlike sometimes. She shits on me and my gaming lifestyle. I respond with a solution. I shit on her a bit about how she has her head in the clouds all the time but doesn't get the simplest shit done (fails at college even though is a chem major). She just shuts down entirely, has a mini-emotional breakdown on phone, leaves me in silence and it takes me asking her if she needs time alone for her to realize that she does indeed need time alone. She's 23. How in the fuck can you be unstable and oblivious yet THAT judgmental. And of course, she started it. What the fuck, way to ruin a night.

I was at a business meeting with my, as I hoped, future employer. And this MOTHERFUCKER complains to me: "oh, we have so many projects with so little time! I even have to work on Saturdays. We need more people!!!" and in the end he told me that they are planning to hire senior useless piece of shit with 6 years experience and pay him 120k in April. IN FUCKING APRIL!!! And at the same time they just suffocate with the amount of work. HELL, I AM READY TO START RIGHT NOW, I KNOW THE SYSTEM THEY ARE WORKING WITH, I AM READY TO WORK MY ASS OFF FOR 42k (I have less experience)!!!

I've noticed this too. It doesn't even make that much sense to me, since I am only in Platinum, and so many zergs (haven't noticed it so much with terrans, but I am worse at PvT) in this range just simply get outmacroed and then go on and on about how joke of a race Protoss is. It's actually quite confusing. Then they see my APM at the end and bash me for being a no-skill noob player. These people are just toxic and super illogical. If they just watched their replays they would instantly realize that perhaps their APM would be better spent on expanding, building drones and building units rather than spamming hotkeys, expanding creep, and micromanaging armies that don't even do any damage when THEY ATTACK THE RAMP OF YOUR NATURAL WITH ROACHES AND LINGS. Seriously platinum zergs, and probably anybody else in platinum, just macro better. If I can roll straight over your army with massed stalkers, there is a problem on your end.
