The emotional attactment from mother to child during the pregnancy, the wanting a child, and the unrequited love a parent can place upon their child makes decision like abortion much harder than 'omg she might look like a monster, we cant let her live !11!1' I wish some people waited till they had either experienced something similar, or at least matured before posting some of their comments. At least with people like baal we know he's joking. | ||

Its only a thirty percent chance. and its only a mental dissability, in society thats not a condemnation. that however, 80% of the people in this world would cringe upon seeing, myself included. if i woke up one day and looked like that, i would shoot myself. not a single doubt about it. | ||

Who cares what she looks like? Shes just another person. If you would look down on her so much because of a birth defect then maybe you should really consider remodeling your life. | ||

1. to the guy that said he'd kill himself if he woke up and looked like that. Maybe so, but you didn't look like that the day before...she'll have no perspective what so ever on having a normal face, so it'll be FAR easier for her to accept it. 2. a friend of mine was in a car accident and had half of his face ripped off, but it was repaired with multiple stories...even though he was not close to looking normal, he's one of the coolest people i've ever met, a very happy person, and he's even had a few girlfriends after the accident. to sit here and say no one but her family will ever love her is not only immature, but shallow as well. 3. its very likely that she'll get government grants to pay for home schooling or the such, not to mention where science could be in another 15 to 20 years. 4. dont downplay the love of family. i've been on both sides, there's very few things a person cant take when they're able to go home to someone that loves them. 4. i also find it very immature and shallow of people to say that no one liking her will make her unhappy to the point of not wanting to live. there's plenty of things to enjoy in life that dont involve being with another person. | ||
