I think the poll needs to be up longer to give accurate information. It's almost alarming that there are so many Canadians in comparison to Europeans O_o
That is actually rather surprising given how small the population of Canada is, but maybe Germany and France have their own equivalent of TL? But even then, UK alone has twice the population of Canada.

I saw another white guy at the airport who refused to fill in their race. Why? Actually, in America, the only way to legally discriminate is to be bigoted against white males. Use a racial slur directed at anyone who isn't white, get your ass kicked, the guy gets off (most places, obviously there will be some variance for community.) Use a racial slur directed against a white guy, and there's a good chance that if the white guy swings, he'll go to jail for a hate crime for discrimination against the way they like to talk or something. (Don't know if this has happened, but the atmosphere created by the laws makes most people not really want to try and find out.) Oh, and lets not forget jobs. Equally qualified? White male is the last candidate to be hired, with decisions being based on gender and ethnicity "equality". Very equal, if the white guy is screwed for being born in the majority demographic for a lot of job positions.
Sorry, but this is absolutely not the case. Its reversed. In virtually every profession, white male is on top and makes the most money.

I don't think so. I think everyone who can speak English goes to TL, and those who can't generally stay away from the internetz.
I guess there's reddit though, but I get the feeling there's mostly north americans in there as well.
I think SC2 isn't very popular in France or UK. I think it's mainly Germany and Sweden in western Europe, and Ukraine and Russia in Eastern Europe.
I believe that's the main reason actually.

I guess the Census thread is as good a thread as any to make a first post on TL. Been lurking for a while as I come to grips with what goes on this forum and what does not.

You didn't read what I said. I'm talking about hiring, not about what demographic happens to have gone to school for a certain skill set and gotten jobs in certain fields. Demographics are a lot more complex than a straight 1 for 1 numbers game, and aren't even taken into account in the laws that force a company to hire based on race or gender just to try to even things out.
What happens if on paper, two candidates for a job are equal, but the personality of the white male seems better for working in the group? Potential lawsuit.
My wife works with someone who does literally half the work she does (she works in IT, and she's shown me tickets closed by herself and this co-worker, he's worked there a month longer than her and closed less than half as many), but it's taking months to work up enough paper trail for her white boss to be able to safely fire the guy.
Anyway, this isn't the purpose of this thread, I don't want to derail it, I was just answering a question. If you want to debate the merits of affirmative action laws, PM me.

Oh nice graphs and charts. Is the Lurker number accurate because that couldn't have been done with data from this thread as you need an account to vote in polls.

Why is there no category for East Indian? If you are grouping East Indian as Middle Eastern than that is incorrect. I believe East Indians don't identify themselves as Middle Eastern and Arabs and East Indians are completely separate races. It is odd that you would put us in the same category
