^I don't understand their motives for siding with Kurdish forces.

Sure, respect their political inclinations but to get killed because of it? That's bizarre to me.

Basically this:


Young Westerners hate the lives they live. Void of passion or purpose. Empty lives of conformist submission to the elite.

This is a way to really make a difference and fight a real enemy. It gives purpose, honor, fulfillment.

After years of hardship and no respite and no fulfillment I might consider the same when I would be at a 'nothing to lose' scenario.

That, plus the fact I want to see Salafist supremacy fascism utterly destroyed like Nazism and Communism was. Destroy them entirely.

Guy the bottom right is clearly ethnic white, person on top looks like half african. Not kurdish at least.

The Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) has launched a coordinated attack on government-held areas in the Iraqi city of Ramadi, involving seven almost simultaneous suicide car bombs, police say.

At least 10 people were killed and 30 wounded in Wednesday's attacks, according to initial reports by police and hospital sources in Ramadi, the capital of Anbar province about 60 miles west of Baghdad.

For months, the government has been staving off ISIL fighters who control most of Ramadi's neighborhoods on the outskirts of the city and regularly attack security forces in more central districts.

Police officers said clashes broke out in several areas following the multiple car bomb attacks Wednesday. Mortar rounds were fired on the provincial council headquarters.

The attacks came a day after Iraqi government forces and their allied fighters entered parts of Tikrit as part of a major offensive to recapture the strategic city from ISIL.

They dont really keep growing larger. They are more like a gas, once they reach a point of resistance they stop and go look for another low resistance area. Once they encounter harsh resistance they generally get their dicks beat in because its just a bunch of 20 year olds in light trucks running around allah akbaring into bullets.

Western recruits are cheap, and driving a suicide car bomb is about as much as they are able to contribute.

German officials are saying about 3/4 of the returnees from Syria are traumatized and disillusioned. Only 40-50 people who have returned are considered dangerous.
This somewhat confirms the analysis piece posted a while back that said that IS really is about the caliphate, and that their member really don't want to leave once they are there (unless, of course, they see how insane the whole thing is).
