Just smoked one of these bad boys tonight:

Excellent cigar!!

Started out nice with a woodsy/spiciness. From the middle onward the spice subsided and I got a light coffee with some of that spice still in the background, very nice. Smoke was billowing, draw was smooooooooooth, smoke creamy and white. Construction was excellent and burn consistent. I think this may be my favorite cigar, despite my rather small dabbles into the worlds selection. HIGHLY recommend!
I underestimated that boy. No... it was not the boy I underestimated, it was the Triforce of Courage.

I plan to stop the cigarette nonsense and go to pipe smoking. I definitely prefer the taste, and while it's not as convenient as pre-rolled, it definitely tastes far better and makes me look sick-nerd baller while reading. It's hard to bum someone your pipe, too.

Now, where is my wizard hat and robe...? I'm not short enough to be a hobbit.

I agree with this sentiment. I roll my cigs because I prefer to smoke much smaller quantities at a time, and because I enjoy all the steps up to actually smoking (and attracting attention when I roll on bar counters).

But honestly I find cigarette packs to be too easily abusable. Whether you're smoking from a pipe, rolling your own or just smoking some hookah, you are doing something you like. When you're smoking ten cigarettes out of a pack a day then you are abusing a good thing, and you will get sick eventually.

I wish there were pipe bars in Montreal because I would be there every weekend.

lol dude i did that as a joke one time.
so so so very harsh.

Hookah is the best to just sit and relax with, but if i can't have that a nice tasty cigar is also nice (I do this about 1 time a month)
can't reconcile spending too much money on it though so i partake in the cheap ones that the posted guide warns against, sorry

I've actually quit smoking cigs for a while now. I plan to go full cigar when i'm a little bit wealthier because right now i don't think i can afford smoking nice cigar being an high school student. Plus i don't want to smoke garbage cigar.

Since i'm still cig addict, i'm starting to smoke those:

Nothing special but i like the taste, it last waaaay longer than a cigarette and the amount of smoke + better taste makes me slowing down which is good for my bank account. I like the way the taste stay for some time, that bitter sweet flavor, followed by a kind of fruity savor. Anyway, it's the way i'm smoking right now and i enjoy it a lot more than whatever i smoked before. FYI, a pack of 20 costs 6.7€, that's 8USD, pretty cheap i'ld say. With the amount i'm smoking everyday, i have to buy 1 pack a week. I tried different kind but those are the best i found where i live (Bordeaux, France). If you know better, let me know

I also want to get a pipe for pretty much the same reasons.

Smoking is more satisfying when you take away the instant gratification factor.

However, you can still look pretty cool with just a cigarette

reading the bit about pipes made me wanna smoke mine again..

damn, i havent smoked a pipe in 3 years...and come to think of it, cant find my tools

in any case, if any1 is thinking about smoking pipe, just go for it. Personally I was blessed with an excellent cigar/pipe shop near my house, but just gather advice online and you'll be fine.
Obviously it is hard to smoke a pipe as often as say a sigaret simply because of the effort involved. For me its always been a "special" thing, not done daily, but more of a monthly thing.

The "monthly" thing however stopped, and so did my pipe smoking.
So here's to you Omnipresent, tomorrow ill go by my shop again, and buy my first pipe tobacco in years.
I know i'll love every second of it :D

I recently bought a Hookah of my own (Been bumming off my friends at parties and whatnot) And i gotta say its probably one of the most enjoyable smoking apparatus (apparati?) that ive ever used. Theres so many different flavors and things you can do, such as adding flavoring to the water to enhance the taste and whatnot. Also a fun social experience to hang with your buds/significant other/etc and maybe have a few beers while smoking.
Great stuff

Welcome back.

I recently bought 10 Gurkha Black Dragon Fury in the 4x60 "Nublizer" size.

It's the first time I've smoked anything in that size. Ever since Oliva came out with its "Nub" line, which is basically a shorter fatter robusto or rothschild, this size has become much more popular. It's not something I would reach for on a cool fall evening, but it's really great in the heat of the summer (assuming you're in a position where you have to smoke outside).

I've smoked one so far. The total burn time was short, but the smoke was really dense. It tastes almost like sucking on an espresso bean. There's a little spice, but not as much as I had read. I suspect these will be much better once they've had some time to sit in my humidor after shipping. The oily wrapper is already starting to show much more than when they arrived. I'm going to have to let these rest a while before trying another.

I had a hookah before, but they are such a pain to clean and maintain. I really enjoyed the crap out of it when it was new though, but ended up not using it at all because it just lost its smoothness, I guess due to being almost impossible to clean thoroughly. My hookah died in that weird quake we had on the east coast (US) last year. Not gonna replace it, I think I'd rather just stick to going to the hookah bar occasionally. Now that I think about it, I took it to a few parties and it was a pretty big success. Enjoy.

For anyone else who feels like hookas are a lot of work:

The key to keeping your hookah in good condition is really just basic maintenance. Change the water every time you smoke (yes, every time) and rinse it with warm/soapy water every few uses. Leave the hoses somewhere they can dry, preferably hanging somewhere, and run water through them if they ever taste strange or leave particulate in your mouth. Take the hookah apart (stem, base, hoses, bowl) if you're not going to use it for a while.

Cleaning really is a pain in the ass, but you should almost never need to clean your hookah if you maintain it properly. Just follow those basic steps, and keep an eye out or discoloration or rust. A hookah can start to taste really funky if you're not careful. This is one of those areas where it's a lot less work prevent problems than fix them later on.

I enjoy going to hookah bars in whatever town I happen to land in, they are almost always good fun, especially when there is live music (my girlfriend has a lot of musician friends who we meet up with at these bars, and they generally play whenever they get the opportunity.) I started smoking Garcia Vega's years ago on my friend's roof when we had "smoke night," where we would just smoke, stare and the stars, and talk about anything. Now it has evolved into trying to carry a bong up a ladder etc; essentially, it has outgrown its roots and has become a bit of fun rather than tradition, as nobody really seems to care for cigars/long talks anymore without weed.

However, I smoke marlb 27 100's, and I'm about to take off for one of those ' - ' a

I don't smoke really anymore..maybe a cigarette once every 2 weeks. Usually just Parliament Blue. I'm not really too picky. Also a Prime Time every once in a while for old times sake.

Actually I have been smoking Marlboro 27s (100s, because I don't mind looking like a woman from time to time; jokesies, I do enjoy smoking cigs for a longer period of time.) and camel blue 99's (when the previous are unavailable.)

If anyone else knows/is a fan of this particular taste, any recommendations on other mellow-type cigs (or, also, recommendations for cigars for special occasions.) Obviously the cigars won't taste like them, but that range of flavor is about where I stand as far as favorite tobacco products. Any other suggestions that are close to those types?
