Strawman argument for sure.
I do not like someone claiming they are someone they are not to make money. It doesn't matter if it's Rebecca Black or not. How is it not illegal to deliberately claim you are Rebecca Black, when you aren't, and then profit off of it? Though I won't be paying money for "Friday", I don't see anything wrong with people buying the track off iTunes or whatever.

It's "Rebeca Black", actually.
Under vid info:
Rebecca Black is a musical genius! This is her new unreleased song that will open the hearts of all girls about to go to prom!
Although the artist on itune is named Rebeca, but evidence points out these people are using Rebecca's name and are trying to fool stupid buyers. Looking at the youtube comments (lol?), many people think the song is Rebecca's.

It's almost as bad as claiming to sing when you aren't, and then profiting off of it.
Black said she opted against taking down the video after it began garnering negative comments because she "decided not to give the haters the satisfaction that they got me so bad I gave up," she said.
Up next for the California eighth-grader? She will sit down for interviews with Good Morning America and On-Air with Ryan Seacrest. She also plans to record an acoustic version of "Friday" to highlight her voice sans Auto-Tune.
"I want to show people there's more to me than they think," she said.

What's really lulzworthy is that it's an "Unreleased" song, and yet its for sale on iTunes.
Shes an idiot. "Haters" arent hating because they are jealous or some useless reason. We are hating because this is the type of shit music that can cause brain aneurysms on a world wide scale.

She's also an eighth-grader, apparently. I think I can forgive her.

If she says that she "doesn't want to give haters the satisfaction," doesn't disabling ratings and marking every comment on the video (literally) as spam do the same thing? Any time I see no ratings, I know it's because they would have so many negatives if they didn't do that.
My girlfriend brought up some great points when I showed her this video:
1. At least she's not singing about sex, drugs, and drinking like every other vapid pop star. 2. At least she's not dressed like a slut like every other female pop star.
I can't disagree there. As much as I hate the song, at least there's some relatively innocent music out there for young kids to enjoy (as only young kids can) without filling their heads with terrible messages.
THIS, is the definition of pussy-whipped.
May God have mercy on your soul.....
You're kidding, right?
Because the opinion of a highly-educated, intelligent and thoughtful woman, gave me insight into the situation that my knee-jerk reaction hadn't considered, I'm "pussy whipped?"
Wow, congrats to the lucky girl that ends up with you.
And to all those saying "Miley Cyrus/Lindsay Lohan started out innocent" it's true - they did; but just because they're total fuck-ups doesn't mean this kid has to be too. There are other pop-stars out there who manage to keep it together despite the pressure to be completely objectified.
I still think that if I had a 12 year old daughter, I'd rather her listen to this than the other trash out there.
