Upwards of 10-20 percent of the American general public believes the lunar landing of 1969 was a hoax and the figures are even higher for non Americans. Why? If an event is so certain to have occured then how come 40 years after the fact this argument still exists? To not be able to see the why the Apollo programne has raised so many questions, and seriously, not appreciate that the questions remain unanswered, brings up doubts about the detractors of the challengers, capacity for critical thinking. Theres an elephant in the room.

Public opinion is not a valid evidence for this claim. You are saying there are unanswered questions. Ask them then! The only thing you are doing is typical conspiracy rhetoric. Claim something over and over and over, never say anything factual, because that can be disproven. Post vague links to websites or walls of texts. Ignore demands for evidence by claiming persecution and that opponents are close-minded/agents/blind/.... You see why you are flamed, because you are doing basically every of those things, and people encountered them many times before.
oh man, a site that looks like it was a middle school project.
extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence. right? the proof is that there's a flag up there, there's footprints up there, and they brought back moon rocks.
the 'counter' proof is a bunch of quasi-logic that can - and has - been refuted. are there any secret documents showing is was a hoax? and top government officials coming out to say so? so why do people persist in it? there is no hard evidence to disprove the moon landings, only thought experiments which, while fun, are hardly damning evidence.
It would be great to know the truth about jesus. My gut tells me he existed, but he wasn't the son of god and that he was just very charismatic and could sway people. Kinda like obama.

Please do not compare the Son of God to Obama. It's extremely insulting.

I'm not trying to come across as a jackass who hates the opinions of other people. But the moon landing was a fact, it happened, America did it, live, in front of the entire freaking world. It happened. Like the Holocaust. Like the Crusades. Like the Armenian genocide. Like the mass starvation of Ukrainians during the Soviet Union... it happened. It's real. Shit's documented. Fact is fact. Doesn't matter how you think it happened or if it didn't happened. If it happened it happened and it happened the way it happened and you have to deal with it.

Ok, the astronauts left a flag, some footprints, and a lunar buggy on the surface of the moon correct? I am sure that a lot of the non believers would change their minds if say high resolution images of the American equipment was taken. It seems quite possible with the large amount of image satalites in orbit, along with the most powerful space telescope ever made in Hubble. Yet why have images of this nature never been taken? High resolution images have been taken of the surface of mars, why not the moon showing what was left behind? This is just one of many questions that have been raised that have yet to be answered.
The American government is not above streaching the truth. Its involvment in the Vietnam war was predicated on a staged incident that was claimed sank an American ship. It was latter revealed (by the pentagon) that this was a staged event. Why is it so hard to think that maybe the lunar landings were staged as well?

He probably was, but his importance at the time was very limited, since Romans did not even note his existence at all. Even Josephus did not mentioned him as significant, and he was a Jew from Judea. There is mention of Jesus in Josephus but only two small mentions that are disputed to be authentic, they may have been added later by a transcriber.

If you really have no better proof than possible motives, then explain why Soviet Union never questioned it ? EDIT: Also "Maybes" are a very bad basis for knowledge. Maybe the Matrix is real, maybe Santa is real, maybe Jesus was Elvis Presley that traveled back in time, maybe, maybe

Most of the examples given in this thread are examples of bullshit that some people just happen to believe in versus facts. While that may still be debatable in the literal sense of the word, it's hardly a contest of conflicting evidence.
You may doubt all you want, but unless the evidence is inconclusive, there is no room for debate.
Dr. Robert M. Schoch, a full-time faculty member at the College of General Studies at Boston University since 1984, earned his Ph.D. (1983) in Geology and Geophysics at Yale University.
So this guy claims that the age of the sphinx is 3-4x older than current mainstream Egyptian historians claim. He raises some very good points, as in the Enclosure around the sphinx, made from the same stone as the sphinx, shows visible signs of water erosion. Except there has been no significant rainfall on the giza plateau for thousands of years. So how could something 3000-4000 years old show signs of water erosion that hasn't existed in the area for 15,000 years?
not saying it's all 100% fact but there is definitely interesting, if the sphinx is the same age of the pyramids, how come no water erosion on the pyramids?
edit: note there are some other crackpot theories presented in the full documentary that I don't support what so ever, but the evidence for the sphinx being much older than 2000bc is substantial.
Not debate, more like bring to light disgusting acts of human atrocities, like The Rape of Nanking by the Japanese during WWII era, U.S. oppression of the Philippines, etc. etc.

Maybe people poured water or peed on the foot of the sphinx for hundreds/thousands of years?
PS- I don't think many people outright deny the holocaust, I think they deny the numbers of jews/people killed and the overhype of genocide on the jews specifically. Also maybe it was originally somewhere else, like at the nile river bank and when flood season came it ramped up the erosion considerably. Then they moved it.

I definitely agree that the american government isn't above lying out of their asses, but that doesn't mean that they lie about everything. First of all Hubble doesn't work like that, If you have ever used a camera before I can explain it like this, Imagine having a 400x super Zoom lense on a camera, then pointing that camera at your shoe, what will you see? a big blur of whatever color your shoe is. Hubble is designed to see things billions of trillions of miles away. Unfortunately, billion dollar satellites don't work like 100$ nikon point and shoots.
However Nasa has sent an imaging satellite to the moon, to document the moons landscape. I post this link again cause you must have missed it, http://www.nasa.gov/mission_pages/LRO/multimedia/lroimages/apollosites.html shadows can clearly be seen, It's far form super high res, but It is intended to make a comprehensive topographical map of the lunar surface, Nasa isn't going to spend billions of dollars to prove a couple skeptics wrong, that would be a waste of tax payer money.
ofcourse if you have 50 billion dollars to spend on a satellite with a super high resolution billion dollar camera on it and have the means to send it too the moon strictly for the purpose of proving something nasa accomplished 40 years ago please do so , so we can end this nonsense.
If you doubt the moon landings, please at least read: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moon_landing_conspiracy_theories first, I mean it's wikipedia, surely that shouldn't hurt your brain too much. I mean, sure the background and font are actually readable, so you probably aren't used to that given the state of 99% of conspiracy websites.

Do I look like a doctor to you?
so about those rocks, that international scientists have had thier hands on, and don't have any doubts as to where they came from. Can you explain those?
And as thegiftedape pointed out, see those landers in those pictures? or are you going to say they're fake. those questions have been answered. do some research.
but hey, conspiracy theorists are pretty immune to reason. if there's a 0.001% chance the conspiracy is true, they'll still beleive it. At some point most reasonable people say hey, this is getting pretty irrational, yeah maybe it's not true, but 99.999% is close enough to accept.
