It would take more to build a battlecruiser than to put a colony on a planet.

I just googled for star destroyers of star wars. They are about a kilometer in length. I can´t comprehend how battlecruisers could be 9 times longer than a wedgelike ship . I just calculatored some numbers and my guesstimate would be 135 cubic kilometers give or take a dozen.
Thats 135 billion tons of stuff, if the stuff has roughly the weight of water.
No matter what you compare it to, its ridiculously much.

I am already intimidated by 200x140 with a yet unknown height. <.<

There are some Star Destroyers that are significantly larger than that. Darth Vader's Executor Class Star Destroyer, for example, is 17,484 meters in length.

Well in the campaign a Marine looked to be maybe 7-7.5 feet tall in uniform, so technically you'd think a battlecruiser is only maybe 8-10 of those in length, but then again wtf is realism supposed to be in a freakin starcraft game lol

I really show off my ignorance towards sizes of starhips in fiction. >.>
My point still stand though: Star destroyers in Star wars are long, because they are shaped like an arrow. A Battlecruiser is more akin to a plate. Also even in fiction I suppose that really, really big ships are less numerous or one-of-a-kind. If I am wrong again, I just don´t care.

Thanks for the sketchup model, I recognize it from some images I found already. I kind of discarded those, though.

What I have so far, is not much. It is already pretty big though. My flying construction already casts a shadow big enough to require torches in order to stop monster spawning during day.
