Who cares you do not want a watch, we do! Here is a picture of my watch (not my own picture but the same watch.) It's an Oris big crown pointer date. In spoiler tags because it is a big image. + Show Spoiler +This is my other watch, it's super inexpensive and the quality rivals watches that cost 5 times as much. Seiko "orange monster". Also in spoiler because of the image size. + Show Spoiler +![[image loading]](http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5244/5340943062_44764a905c_b.jpg) Credit goes to Fullers1845 from watchuseek. more OM posts and pics can be found in the thread at: LINK I definitely wouldn't classify the OM as "super inexpensive" , but yeah, it does have huge value for money. I basically had to pick between that and the one I posted in the OP, as I like both the Orange and Yellow/Black combinations. I finally decided to go with the sports since it's not as common as the Monster (and by common, I mean I only saw it once, but I know a lot of people like it). Nice Oris as well. Yes maybe i should not have called it super inexpensive indeed. It's no 50 dollar fossil (no offence), but you get quite a warped view when you lust over 10k watches you would not buy in a lifetime online, then 150 dollars for such a well built watch seems a steal. I like your watch design as well, but it might be too big for me. Is that a helium valve btw as the second pusher? Thanks, i love my oris, it is the coolest watch i ever owned :-) Oh no, it's just a dial that controls the inside compass. Not sure exactly what use there's to it, but it looks pretty. As for the OM, it's over $400 at official resellers in Romania. Though, admittedly, they do overcharge a lot. But if we buy from amazon.com we pay 24% vat, so it still brings us to over $250. Lucky you for being able to buy it for under 200. Wow yes that seems very expensive indeed. There is a dutch site of a Orange monster enthusiast who imports them and sells the standard orange monster for ~160 (euro's btw, but i was too lazy to any conversion.). You can also get a lot of the rarer models from him for good prices. Guess i got lucky on that one looking at what you have to pay for it o.0 On January 19 2011 21:41 mads wrote:+ Show Spoiler +my first watch was ![[image loading]](http://www.thewatchery.com/WatchImages/Med/98H30.jpg) (without the gold) Now I wear this: ![[image loading]](http://www.timeway.eu/images/Longines-Master-1.jpg) looks much nicer in person. I really like moonphase watches, would like to be able to afford a constantin in the future. baller in this thread, that longines is gorgeous. Vacheron constantin are amazing watches as well, post pictures if you get one! Thanks, when I bought the Longines I was actually torn between it and an ORIS (the artelier skeleton). I'm curious, how do you like your ORIS? Yours looks beautiful, and actually looks like a much nicer watch than the ones I looked at. I didn't have a huge sample size to compare from (most of the ORIS's carried by the jewellers i went to were stainless or rubber bracelets, and largely from the artelier collection). In the end, the skeleton looked really nice in pictures, but in person it kind of felt cheap. I would still like an ORIS as a more casual watch maybe, so I'm just curious how you feel about yours?
I love my oris. The design is a throwback to an old Oris model from the 30's i believe, and that leads to the possible only downfall of the watch in my opinion. To keep with the old school look this watch is fitted with a plexiglass dome. This is very soft and scratches easily. You can on the otherhand buff most of it out because it is easily polished up again (check watchuseek, people have gotten some pretty nasty scratches out of plexi watches with some toothpaste and elbow grease.) Next to that the watch is quite understated, i get a lot more compliments on my orange monster if you care about that sort of thing.

also, most the time complications on the watch face are located in position where 10:10 blocks obstruction of them the least. (aka the cause of this is the complications, photographers wanted a clear shot of those so they ended up with 10:10 and it stuck around ever since.)

only wear it on formal occasions, otherwise I just use my phone.

It's a Nomos Orion Black. I'm not too sure if the cost varies from store to store (or country to country), as they should, but I got mine from a jeweler for about 1300EUR in Germany. So that's about 1750$.
It just goes really great to any kind of suits as well as more casual clothing as it's so minimalist.

@ Lux: I saw one of those on sale on a Romanian website, but it was marked as "NOMOS - TANGOMAT RUTHENIUM DATE". Is it the same model? Because in the photos it sure looks the same. Price was about 1200eur (second hand), so I'm thinking it could be.
@ butch: I hate you. That is one sick sick watch. It looks so stylish and clean. I only saw a version with chronograph, and that kinda ruins the whole look. Can you let me know what model it is? (not that I'll buy it, since I assume it goes for around $1500-ish?, but I wanna see more photos of it).
Edit: Nevermind, found it, it's the Classima 8590.
Gorgeous.

Like some people here, I take it off when I'm not in transit. Not really comfortable with most watches.

I always like Movados though, especially the Vizio, but that Movado would always be more of a casual watch.
I can't afford something more expensive and that Link is a rather low-end Tag. I would probably eventually replace it with something more formal if I were to purchase it now.

one of the cheaper models, but has solar, atomic, and tough as hell.

couple of people mentioned movado...
that's what I would have if I could stand having shit hang off me. to me too many of these watches fall either into jewelry or just plain ugly, which is especially true of rolexes and omegas to me.
|
Don't get me wrong, I like minimalistic. But Movado is not really a watch, it's too simple. Plus, to me, IT falls way under "fashion sense" / "jewelery" than anything else.
I mean I agree, others do to, but I don't see how Movado is any better.
