As for the regularity of doing so, you dont. I only do it when i think theres the chance i could be getting laid or am having a steady relationship. Unless you really just like looking at yourself naked, theres no need to shave regularly. If you cut pretty close without a blade (all you need to do honestly) i'd say it takes about a month to grow back.

Ingrown hairs are only a risk if you cut the hair completely off via razor blade, something i dont recommend. What it is, is a hair that gets stuck trying to grow out of your skin, and thus grows under your skin, getting longer and longer. The oils on it build up and it becomes infected, and looks like a pimple with pus in it. It doesnt exactly hurt or anything, although it is a bit tender, just looks bad. You can pop it and pull the hair out till its extended with tweezers. If you wish to be completely bald down there it will take a few times of full shaving/waxing till your body grows accustomed to not having ingrown hairs, they simply learn to come out properly. But shaving like that is a lot of work, and waxing is quite simply out of the question. No girl expects this level of attention, thats for porn stars only.
