International manhunt out for you if your condom breaks during sex.
Shame on Sweden for abusing Interpol like this, and shame on interpol for listening.
Mr. Assange is inconvenient, but he's not guilty of anything other than a misdemeanor. What did Sweden think, no one would read their laws and figure out the crime he's been charged with?

Of course, what he has been arrested for is total nonsense. Actually the first major leak (was it the afghan war or the iraq-war, I dont remember which one was first), had alot of sensitive infomations in it, like social security number, names of agents and so on. In the latest major leak (the diplomatic cables) wikileaks took a different approach, instead of just releasing everything, they sent the info to 5 (unsure about the exact number) major newspapers and they helped them remove the worst of the unintended sensitive infomation. So I dont think your point is totally valid - wikileaks actually admitted that the first leaks weren't handled in an optimal way, and took steps to improve the proces. they never release names of agents gets your facts straight. To this date the leaks have caused no1 to die.
They revealed names of someone, my english is not perfect, if they werent "agents" then perhaps they were just military-advisors. I apologize for the mistake - you seem to be well-informed, perhaps you could inligthen us into the exact term for the people who's names they revealed. You are of course also correct in that no-one has been attacked because of the leaks yet, but this would seem to only further prove my point: that there is no reason to hate on wikileaks, and that they are doing what they can to minimize the unintended personal consequences of the leaks, however small they might be.

I like this, the media does this too.
"Oh no! The world and the American public are going to find out the truth!"
This isn't just some messages, this is storing cluster-bombs, bombing innocent civilians and making other countries take the blame, blatant international manipulation on an unprecedented scale...and so on.

Of course, what he has been arrested for is total nonsense. Your government is not worried about what has already leaked but about everything that could be leaked. ? Your point? I am fully aware that there are things like videos of civilians being killed that have some relevance. However, I don't think my government, or the many other governments feelings about things like NK, Iran, Italy should be public information. Even if a lot of that information is pretty obvious. There was no 9/11 in Europe. There were bombings, sure, but the european population never gave up its "freedom". You may think that some things should not come out. Can you name some of those things ? What would your government be entitled to keep secret from the rest of the world ? 5.7 billion people did not vote for your administration. Documents that would state that the Irak war was all about oil and not weapons of mass destruction from the very begining ? + Show Spoiler + Oh, because every European country has and never has had a corrupt government. Of course the United States is the only country with has sensitive information, spys, and corruption. lol. The majority of the diplomatic cables released so far have had no reason to be released. The other 5.7 billion people of the world don't have a right to know that every country in the middle east hates Iran. Or that the US feels as if Italy and Russia are a bit too close for comfort. Don't fucking tell me that every other countries politicians and military leaders speak freely about this stuff.
The US benefiting off of Iraqi oil? lol. Trillions of dollars well spent for that.
What fucking benefit has anyone gotten from Iraqi oil. Our gas costs sure as shit have not gone down. Pretty sure the war has cost trillions.
Of course you are from Australia. Clearly the land of freedom. Oh wait, it's one of the most censored countries in the western world.
Of course every country has it's own deficiencies, but not every country invading places and poking their noses into shit that has nothing to do with them at the beginning. Also yes the Iraqi war costed a lot of money, but those money were different than the money acquired. Money spent were tax payers and country money, output was many private gains.
To topic - I think some informations are too sensitive and should not be published, but also sheeps are being blind and need to open their eyes a bit. I hope he will cope with this laughable accuse and ran away into some country where they can't get him.

So let me get this straight. This girl wants to have sex with Assange, pays for his ticket to her home 40km away from stockholm, then accuses him of rape?

You're doing it wrong. It's "Having sex with condom OH SHIT condom breaks"

While ofc it is possible he committed these crimes, the timing seems too convenient to me and it seems absurd on it's face that someone of his caliber would have to rape girls to "get some."
Edit: seems it has something to do with a condom breaking? That is even more stupid and should embarrass everyone involved.

I never said that there were no corrupt governments in Europe and nor does wikileaks targe the US only. So the people of the world dont have the right to know that middle eastern countries hate Iran ? Why ? Because the US says so ?
Maybe you are being told that those countries hate Iran because there's an Iran war about to start ? Again the US government is lying to its own people ? I very much doubt that arab countries hate on another arab country. If there's anything i've learned about muslims is that they stick together especially against the US.
The Iraq Oil doesn't bring down the gas prices in the US because there's no interest in brining down consumer oil prices anywhere as long as there is good profit to be made.
Why should the people pay less just because we get it for less."
That being said you have no idea what gas prices are in Europe. You THINK your gas prices are HIGH. Well THINK AGAIN.
Honestly, before bringing oil prices into discussion maybe you should find out what the rest of the world pays for that crap.
And yes, the Italian people should know who their government befriends. Then they can decide from themselves if they want to be friends with the americans or the russians.
Americans don't offer much these days while Russians provide the whole of europe with natural gas.

Quickly everyone! We must make as many unfounded assumptions as possible! Never mind that our current conspiracy theory consists of a collaboration between the liberal Obama administration and Sweden. We must wildly assume as much as possible in the name of freedom and transparency. + Show Spoiler +Obligatory internet sarcasm notification.

I seem to remember that the girl alleging rape actually tweeted something like 'at a party with the most amazing people' after the incident allegedly took place.

The prosecutors in Sweden know damn well that they cannot get a European Arrest Warrant for something thats only a crime in Sweden and not in the UK. Still they are trying to do it for what ? 500 euros fine ? Seriously ? Don't you think that the swedish prosecutors are a little overzealous over something so small ?

This is so fucking retarded. The prosecution knows full well that he did not rape anyone and they have no case. This is the worst run smear campaign in the history of the universe. Assange is going to come out of this smelling like roses, while his opponents have completely undermined themselves.
If our governments actually are involved in super shadowy conspiracy theories I hope they're better run than this.
