I like that explanation. Better than saying "they did it because they are NK"

Good point, I didn't consider something like this yet. If anything, only time will tell about their motivations.

I hate KJI and I'm really sorry for both Koreas, but making NK "absolute evil" à-la-Bush without realizing that western democracy are in fact not behaving much better is a bit silly too.

Well, if that reasoning is true then SK has it's own part to blame for this. However i believe NK's reaction was disproportionate.

While South korea should not have fired in those areas knowing how the North is... you don't really fire back at people if they are firing at empty places.....

US is the citadel of democracy therefore it is always right and just. If one day they will invade your country, it is in the name of democracy!

In case anyone didnt catch it heres the BBCs Live feed. Best way to keep up to date with reliable information imo, Google's feed just has too much repetition for me.
The fact that they've got to throwing accusations at each other suggests we've back to 'normal' . Was scary there for a while...

NK attacking SK would be suicide for NK, there is no way that they can handle them in a full on war.
On top of SK's army, there are currently 25000 american troops in SK, this will not end well.

The country is a ghost town, how can you say that's not so much better then democracy? that's insane.

And why wouldn't he compare them? They look pretty much the same except US invested more into PR to justify their actions.

Bshad is obviously being sarcastic, but neither he nor Biff really have a point. Sure, the USA (and China and Japan for that matter) has done a lot of nasty stuff in the name of justice, but intentionally starving over a third of its own citizens in order to squeeze out foreign aid that goes directly into weapons development is not one of them. You can rightfully hate a lot of what the USA does, but there's no question who's in the right on this one.
North Korea is a cancer to east Asia. Pointing fingers at other countries and noting that they're not saints is just a distraction from that problem.

Sadly china supports north korea...and since the US and many European countries are in debt to china, nobody will touch them.
This can turn out to be horrifying, china supporting north korea and the US supporting the south...it´s gonna be really interesting to see if the US will actually have the balls to support south korea cause we know for sure that china will support the other side. How will that turn out? World at war probably.
I mean we know for a fact that if the US and China go to war because of this, which might actually happen, then europe will support the US. What about all the other asian countries? Will they show China support or the western countries? I think Japan will show the western countries support..but there are many others.

I don't understand why the world doesnt step up and take care of this growing N.Korean problem. the people there are starving and are being treated like dark ages peasants while the royalty steps on them. it shouldnt be acceptable, every country in the world is guilty of not helping those poor brainwashed people.
i strongly recomend watching this: http://www.vbs.tv/watch/the-vice-guide-to-travel/vice-guide-to-north-korea-1-of-3
it really shows you how insane that country is, its so obvious that they are trying to make it seem like everyone isnt completly miserable and the people are scared of the police one woman sees them while on her bike, gets off, and walks down stairs holding the bike and only because she sees a camera and its illegal to be seen with food you purchased at the market (the only way ppl can actually survive because the government doesnt give enough rations)
its sad, and whats even sadder is that now this happened, if a war starts i have a feeling the N.Korean people will be almost extinct by the end of it
