They also have a TON of artillery, and submarines. There is really nowhere for SK citizens to run. If they initiate, NK will kick the shit out of SK in a matter of hours or days. The US would roll in of course, but much too late to stop SK from getting overrun. (and no, US forces in SK will get rolled easily as well, they are just there to prevent us from making excuses from helping out). Everybody assumes the US would easily roll NK, but it's not as simple as you think. NK is actually geared towards fighting the US, where Iraq regulars pretty much gave up, nobody anticipates that happening in NK. You can see the trouble the US has in iraq against irregular forces, and the trouble we have in afghanistan. Believe you me, NK is learning from them. They already have indigenous radios with encryption and frequency hopping abilities, significant fiber optics communications lines between major military buildings, and extensive underground networks (tunnels and buildings and shit). In fact, their whole military strategy is based around countering american strengths. If we fought them, we would win. The question would be if it was worth it. Fighting NK will make fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan look like a cake walk. | ||

I think I remember a mod saying your IP is from some Scandinavian country last time you got involved in one of these NK vs. SK threads. Seriously, how could you even access TL if you're from NK? Really, it's NOTHING. There will be no war. Northerners ask for money in such way. And they will succeed as usual. We're lucky it wasn't a torpedo this time. Scaring their neighbors is an important part of NK income. | ||

As people already mentioned, china would not back them up, because they have no interest in destabalizing the region, and on the long run, NK would just run out of money, which I guess they know. There is no way they could afford the seemingly inevitable case of fighting international military support for SK. I don't think they would go further than this. | ||
