but it's only if south korea gets into their border

Figuratively speaking, there are no "cops" that can be called by SK, the closest thing to it would be the international community, and there's little they can do until China stops beeing NK's backup...

not sure what you're basing this on. the "international community"? who are you referring to?

THey said if South korea attacked first, they would attack South Korea

How are people in Seoul reacting to this?

"merciless" if SK goes 0.1cm into NK, which I doubt will happen. So lets all calm down for now.

There's a serious news story here and I'm facepalming pretty hard at this whole debate over "hurrr which country's soldiers are the most badass?" Yes seriously....sheesh you'd think this thread was run by immature children This pretty big event in the S. Korea. The people are probably emotional like something along time lines of 9/11. NK has NEVER NEVER attacked on SK soil. this is the first time in ~60years. Take a trip to Wikipedia please. This shit happens all the time. Not so much recently, true, but you certainly don't have to go back to the Korean war. Your Average SK will not care what happens around the border. Let alone all the events that occured in the borders. 1980s were probably the most tense years but those events were provoked. The recent boat incidents were provoked as well. This was unprovoked AND was on Korean SOIL!! This is the worst thing they've done since the korean war. You were wrong and you continue to be wrong. There is no shame in admitting it, even on the internet. Dude I'm south Korean American. All you are doing is speculating that those had a large impact. I'm discussing on a korean forum as well. The impact of those events are ZIP nothing. People stopped caring within a month or so. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Division_of_KoreaWhen bombs start coming down and citizens actually get injured. Things just got real. People start realizing the current situation in S. Korea and realize sensitive it really is. South Koreans do not think about there neighbor at all. To be honest... the international community probably cares more about korean relations then the SK people it self. This is probably the first time SK citizens will actually start caring about the situation with NK. SK will probably care about this situation for at least a year or so. Majority of things become history IE that boat incident. It was only on the Korean news for like 2 months and that event has never been mentioned up until now.
Ugh. How about we just draw the line at saying that ALL OF YOUR COMMENTS, BOTH OF YOU, ARE GENERALIZED, thus there is no right or wrong. There are people who care a WHOLE lot and there are those who couldn't give a rat's ass.
I know Koreans here who worry a lot about what's gonna happen. Then I know those who don't care. So both of you, this is not a place to argue over some stupid generalization that you've come to via wikipedia or a korean forum.
Just in case Benshin88 doesn't know, I'm a Korean-American living in Seoul currently.

It is the yonhapnews twitter. Thats why I asked is if its true. Its hard to keep up with all this. I did see people claiming false when a twitter reported on the 2nd marine death but that ended up being confirmed elsewhere too.

IIRC, NK and SK are only on a cease fire, so war could break out again at anytime.
China supporting NK is what is letting them be so aggressive

Now i'm actually pretty scared, I really hope nothing much comes of this. I guess this is why South Korea has mandatory military service.

Yes no peace treaty was ever signed, just a cease fire.
