Bose On-Ear Headphones
For me. My brother got them for me for Christmas, and they're the best pair of anything I've ever owned lol. They're probably not great at all, but they when you're coming from Skullcandy...what am I to say!? :D

Any thoughts or recommendations for a good headphone amplifier for the AHD-5000s?

These are a demo model from from what i can tell, basically same as the Retail Studios but it uses AC Power instead of batteries, and doesnt have any of the crosstalk function/case/cloth/etc. They sound great, but I'm having a problem with my onboard sound, when playing some games (usually low-res or older games) i get a very high frequency pitch that changes around as the game changes screens/graphics, most noticeable in diablo 2, broodwar, and audiosurf. works fine with my stereo receiver/ipod/laptop. so i've basically harrowed it down to my onboard. So I'm looking to purchase a soundcard. i just want high fidelity (not audiophile fidelity) with no interference. Probably don't need an amp or any of that jazz because they are already amplified. I have little need for a front bay or anything either, SPDIF output is key, because I do have a optical line from my onboard to my surround sound receiver, however i can probably just use the onboard for that if i have to. What can you enthusiasts recommend? EDIT: I should also mention I'm not looking to spend more then ~100ish.

Heh, enthusiasts would recommend you sell the beats and then you'll have enough to buy a pair of headphones that blow the beats away in terms of sound quality and still have enough left for a good sound card. Take a look around this thread, there have already been a ton of posts on what headphones have good value, and some posts on sound cards as well.

I understand the general opinion on the headphones itself, the fact is I did not pay a single cent for a pair a 300 dollar headphones that some people have probably stabbed some1 to get. anyways. thanks for the input, ive been browsing this thread for the last 20 or so minutes, the general consensus is don't drop the money on beats. Well i didn't, they are decent, above average if you will, and im just trying to get the most out of them. I am not looking for a new headset since these do their job fantastically. I just have no clue what to look for in a sound card.

I've owned a good number of different kinds, and the Bose headphones I have are easily the best out of any I've ever warn. The sound quality is crazy good, and they're fantastic at shutting out noises from outside.

I also have a pair of these, they're very good sound quality for the price to be honest, I didn't want to spend $700 on a nice pair of audiophile headphones so these definitely do the trick... If you're willing to go a little higher than $100 then take a look at http://www.htomega.com/claro.html or some of their other products, I have the card linked myself and for the price I paid for it (I got it on sale fole $80 or something) its absolutely amazing...
