also got some time on the TH600. Damn those are nice (compared to the M50).

I have some AKG K240 MKII that i'm decently happy about, and that i also use with my piano, however I have an integrated sound card on my computer and i think that i could get much better performance by upgrading it ... So what would be your advice for an internal sound card, knowing that i'd like it to be in the 100-200 euros range, and it would also be nice if it had a midi input so that i could use it with my piano as well? I've been trying to look around but i have a hard time finding what would fit my use :s. edit: i got a good collection of flac album on my computer so it's kind of a waste to be able to really take advantage of that ![]()

Best I've owned ever. I've also bought JBL Synchros for the road. They're great if you're looking for bluetooth on-ear headpones

After saying that, does a midi to usb adapter even exist? I don't know, maybe. Buy Magni 2 uber Buy Modi 2 uber Buy Wyrd (not really needed I guess, but schiit...) Buy PYST (or cheap monoprice RCA would work also, but schiit...) Buy a mid-fi headphone Then take full advantage of your FLAC. @CorsairHero No I haven't heard the 400i nor the HE560, but I did tell my friend to get the 400i when he ask what mid-fi headphone to buy. Also, there are a lot of talk about the HE1000. I didn't expect any sound impression when I ask about it, just the headphone itself, in general. Like how it has a nano-thin diaphragm. It looks very appealing, although still think Audeze has the best looking headphones. Supposedly, better than the Orpheus. I can't wait.

Hey thanks but that's quite a bit out of my budget, plus i'm french so ordering from Shiit would be really expensive between transportation fees, brokerage fees, customs etc... not worth it unfortunately. Also i'm not really convinced about getting a DAC, i'd rather get an internal solution. I think i'll end up buying a mid range sound card with decent low latency drivers.

It's for my piano, latency is a big issue when you're playing an instrument. I had to use the ASIO4ALL drivers when i tried to do it with my integrated chipset, but performance was not exactly great, so if i get a sound card that is designed to work at low latency i guess it should be better.. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Audio_Stream_Input/Output). But as you can see i'm far from being an expert so maybe i'm completly confused, if i'm wrong i'll be glad to be corrected :D

Without the ASIO4ALL driver i would get something like 500ms delay between my keystrokes and the sound, and you need 10ms at worst to be "ok". With the drivers i was able to get decent latency, but at the cost of reducing the sound quality by quite a lot. It's really weird though that there would be that much delay with the default drivers but apparently that's not something unusual.

Wow.. does that happen with non-instrument related interactions like when you're gaming?
