This is important for a variety of reasons: 1) Eating breads causes your body to produce insulin which pushes fats into storage centers, as well as pushing carbs into their own storage centers. 2) Breads actually make you feel sluggish/tired throughout your day because of glucose spikes and crashes. 3) This advice includes all breads (whole wheat/multi-grain too.) 4) Cereal may be the single most evil creation of man ever. 5) If you are very strict with this diet, you will actually get a six pack with no working out involved. The main storage of energy for carbs is in your midsection. 6) The only carbs you should eat are fruits and veggies ^^.
Edit: Also don't listen to the popular food pyramid that has breads as your core dietary food. Meat is your friend. You sure this is the case with rye bread too? Atleast it doesnt spike your blood sugar and make you feel bad. Rye bread is being probably more consumed here than white in normal weekdays.
Most of the tips here anyway seems to be extermely off/absurd because ppl live in different countries.

Your diet is probably healthier in general. There are a lot of problems with america.

Start hitting gym 5times/week at 17. Really starts paying off in 2-3 years and those are for most people the important years to look like khaldor baller.

Your eye only needs a couple seconds to adapt to light, but minutes to adapt to the dark. Just read this... well i must say that this wont work since eyes share the same reflect so if your open eye gets light your other will get a pupil constriction too even if its close. Actually I think he might have a point, its not related to the "consensual reflex" where both eyes constrict. He is actually referring to Rhodopsin From Wikipedia: Rhodopsin, also known as visual purple, is a biological pigment in photoreceptor cells of the retina that is responsible for the first events in the perception of light. Rhodopsins belong to the G-protein-coupled receptor family and are extremely sensitive to light, enabling vision in low-light conditions.[1] Exposed to light, the pigment immediately photobleaches, and it takes about 45 minutes[2] to regenerate fully in humans. THIS is what makes you see better in the dark as he mentioned, which is why you need a few minutes to regain full vision when you transition from Bright ---> Dark. Also some people think that its also responsible for the colorful aura-like stuff that you see when you close your eyes after looking at a bright light source. Not a big fan of the centor criteria but that is another discussion.
Reporting with empirical evidence . Tried peeing with one eye closed than opening the other when I got back to my room. Shabby's life trick works.
P.S. Got some pee on the floor. May or may not be due to having my accuracy hindered by having one eye closed.

I've noticed it's nice to just slow down from all the heptic fast paced life and just sit outside and enjoy my surroundings and life in general. It really helps me calm down :D
Super obvious but so easy to forget sometimes.

Not necessarily time saving tips :
In shower, pool some hot water upto your ankles to let your feet soak. Before getting out of shower, dry your hair, arms, chest and belly while you rinse your backside; it reduces time you dry yourself in cold. Flush before you drop enough to clog your toilet, as often as necessary. If clean toilet is available, sit to pee for some comfort and no risk of splashing it to your pants. Trim your pubes instead of shaving, unless you are into that sort of thing.
On some traffic lights, you can flash your highbeam to simulate emergency vehicle lights to turn them to green in a few seconds. Do not try this when there are other traffic though. On left turn only lanes, there are usually a rectangular outline before the intersection, stop on top of them to get the left turn arrow. (Some of them have the detector on the 2nd car spot, so if you are the only car waiting to turn, you won't get the arrow.)
Turn your underwears, socks, undershirts inside out to wash. Do the same to your jeans so they don't fade as fast. If you are seperating colored and whites, start with the whites first(which includes your towels) and hang your towels to dry(preferably in a dry room that you want more humid) until your color laundry load finishes, then put your semi-dried towels with them in the dryer.(Towels take longer to dry and make others to dry slower, often delaying your 2nd load to put in the dryer.)
Use half water filled plastic soda bottles as disposable ashtray for reduced odor and easy clean up. When vacuuming your room, vacuum your bed(blankets and pillows) as well to lessen the dust. While at it, vacuum your computer ventilations too.
Use hypnosis induction to fall in deep sleep at night. You can use hypnosis for just about anything by recording your own script(yes your voice can hypnotise you), the possibilities are endless!

(or atleast so I read) To add to this also limit your sugar intake as much as possible to avoid a hangover (be aware many alcoholic drinks are filled with sugar too). Also drinking water throughout your alcohol consumption is better than just drinking water before you go to sleep but obviously that might not always be at the front of your mind, so just make sure you switch to water when you've hit your limit or stopped your alcohol intake. Using these ideas I am able to drink a lot more than most people and have a very quick recovery hangover even though I have barely any fat content to my body, and don't really have a very high alcohol tolerance (although drinking a lot is never good for your health). On a general diet note, I wouldn't say you need to eliminate bread altogether, though I don't eat a ton of bread myself as it just happens that way (sandwiches are delicious though). Variety and moderation is the key to life as it is the key to diet. Personally my biggest focus is to only eat things that contribute some nutrition to me, eating things that are natural (usda organic if you can afford it), limiting sugar intake as much as possible (this means no soda or candy, and very rarely would I eat a dessert, most people have the hardest time eating less sugar but it will really pay off if you make the switch), and making sure everyday I get protein, fruits, and vegetables (color is a good indicator as how nutritious vegetables are). Also be aware that we dye so much of our food it's stupid, and we also use a lot of preservatives which are both bad. Speaking from the viewpoint of an American but the general food tips pertain to all. Yeah if you have a glass of water with every alcoholic drink you most likely won't get hungover. You also might find it harder to get drunk though :-P probably the 'healthiest' way to get drunk is spirits and healthy chaser such as tequila shots and lime. Won't have any of the extra calories that come in beer/mixed drinks Just to add to the conversation I want to point out that healthy doesn't always have to mean weight loss. Calories are essential, just if your trying to lose weight you would want to burn more calories through exercise than you consume. Personally I have very low body fat so I want to take in as many calories as I possibly can so a single beer a day is good for me for multiple reasons. Though getting drunk is different as it is never really healthy, so I guess liquor is just as good an option as beer or wine or other fermented drinks. But as everything in moderation it won't negatively affect your health.

Ah the old "you'll stop growing" adage? This isn't true unless you lift so much weight you damage the growth plates of your long bones. Complete bs other than that. I've been working out since I was 16 and it's payed dividends over the years. Even when I don't work out regularly now I still maintain a higher strength level because of my early start.

Physios, kinesiologists, PTs, etc. will tell you the same thing. All that testosterone, natural growth hormones, etc. will pay big dividends if you actually get out and use the muscles they're meant to affect.
It's a hell of a lot harder to motivate a growth spurt in a skinny 40-year old than a skinny 16-year old.

In any case, the quoted post is still off on plenty of things. The sugars in fruits cause much faster insulin spikes than the ones in bread. Of course, the idea of a ketogenic or no-carb diet is nothing new, and plenty of people do have good results with them.
The biggest bullshit might be the comment abotu the six pack. You get a six pack from having tight skin and low bodyfat. Weight loss comes from eating less than you burn, even if your diet has plenty of carbs. Tight skin comes from being skinny for a protracted period of time, then experiencing muscular hypertrophy that causes some inflation.

Fuck yeah, guess I was fortunate then. I have my highschool weights teacher to thank.

There's also the risk that you won't eat enough to support both your length growth and your muscle growth.
So remember kids, eat your greens (and everything else on your plate).

Funny this thread is called "life tricks" but people are providing advice that will change someone's entire life/lifestyle. And many of the "tips" are hardly well proven, if at all.

Learn to use a damp rag (of the spongey type) to stabilize utensils while cooking. Put one under the cutting board while slicing stuff or under the bowl when whisking etc., to make them stay in place. This will reduce the amount of unnecessary effort you exert in the kitchen, and make you look like a pro. (You'll be less prone to noob mistakes like cutting your fingers because the cutting board is sliding around.)
