Stumbled across this thread and thought I might share it here.

Such a good read, even for an arachnophobic like myself.
And I regret looking at this pic:

Anyone else with spider/other horrible things stories? I don't have any because all I do is point at said spider and make incomprehensible noises until someone takes care of it xD
Though I did wake up once with a spider dangling in front of my face. I was seven. Spiders man, they are out to get you.
Oh and stolen thread title.

Oddly enough my wife woke up screaming and slapping the air yesterday morning because she had a dream about a spider in her hair.

For those of you that remember clock spider, that was a huntsman spider. They're not dangerous to humans, so this guy's wife was being paranoid. If it was something like a funnel-web, I wouldn't get in the car either. Picture in the OP is clearly some kind of Latrodectus.

I thought this thread was about this.

ive got spider storys to tell. Spiders are fucking crazy scary. Fin.
nah seriously though i HATE spiders i live in the attic room in my house so during the months when summer ends an winter begins spiders all come in doors, and guess where they decide to enter the house from.........the window in my roof, this year has been a record year ive currently got 4 spiders trapped in glasses in my room (i dont wanna let them go coz they will get back in).
They are all "the biggest spider" ive ever seen, i saw it every time i see another one. just aswell england only has shit spiders that cant poison you and kill you within minutes, we only have incredibly large spiders that cause an irrational fear

man that story is funny ^^, i have very high respect for this buddys, knowing that some of them are dangerous makes you respcet the warning colors of nature XD

While we're at it... These are the most disgusting spider pics I've found yet. You have been warned.

I'm usually not too afraid of spiders as long as they're not abnormally large or a Funnel-Web. Needless to say though, I shit myself when one night I went to let my cat in from outside and a huge Huntsman, roughly the size of my hand kind of flew in the door or dropped down from the ceiling or something and landed on my head. Here's a picure for you guys who don't know what one looks like:
+ Show Spoiler + When I felt it crawling around in my hair, I started flailing and panicking and ended up running into a wall and splitting open my lip. I fell over after that and the spider kind of fell off my head and crawled back out the door. Two weeks later the exact same thing happened to me except this time I didn't run into a wall and I killed that ugly son of a bitch.
I LOL'd at this guys quote in the thread: "I know huntsmans aren't deadly and can be quite friendly at times" What the fuck do you think it is, a dog?

Bloody hell, huntsmens man, they aren't dangerous but there bloody big. I don't really have any stories considering I live in New Zealand now, but when I was in Australia I have had some encounters. Mainly the type of encounter where I walk into a room and the spider drops to the floor. In fact one time, I was in the bathroom and I saw a bloody huntsman, I go to grab the insect spray since I don't like spider guts all over my wall and I try to find it, I look around unable to see it when 'it' drops to the floor, I jumped like 2m back only to recognise it as a cute small lizard
That was until well, as I begin to leave the real spider drops to the floor I wasted half my can of bug spray on it...
Oh yeah, spiders gotta love them

I used to fear spiders, so I caught one in my hand and let it wander around a bit. That settled my nerves. I'd like to try the same with a very large spider to cross 'size' off the list of scary things a spider can do.
Still, some spiders can skitter, jump, make giant webs, and kill you with venom - scary shit.

I thought he had one in his shoe..
yknow..like that kind of "boot"
I'd flip out =/

Spiders really aren't that bad...unless if you're in Australia maybe, but where I live you really only got to worry about black widows and brown recluses. Neither are aggressive and most likely neither will kill you. Black widow bites will really only kill young kids or the elderly and brown recluses rarely bite humans and when they do I mean it's only necrosis!
