Also for suggesting I'm racist you earn a spot on the lamer list. you seriously believe white people are being *excluded* from american history tests based on reverse racism because they are white? also, i'm proud to be on your "lamer list" (blatant copy of stimey if you ask me) as every time you post people know that i will probably disagree with you. every time you post something stupid, "Hot_Bid" will be at the bottom, a symbol of non-stupidity. judging by your track record i believe this to be often. btw hows that michael moore thread coming? still fighting the good fight? He's saying the test is not adequate.. He's saying that it's ridiculous that they do not include such important people. Only reason he mentions WHITE MALES, is because they bring up the women, non-whites (I dunno if there has been any really 'important' asians during american history) but not the white males. What should he write?
"They excluded everyone except the women and non-whites!"

Reverse racism, as well as racism against minorities, exists here in America. *duh*

My friend just told me about how Robert Frost's poem "Old Man by the Sea" was banned in some school because it contained banned words.
"Old" of course which we've established is "ageist".
and get this...
"Sea" because it isn't fair to inland students who may not be able to conceptualize what a sea or ocean might be. ...... 1984 is happening right before our eyes...
Yes, this kind of reasoning actually scares me for what it will end up like.
It's just words for God's sake, we all know what they mean. The people who thought up shit like 'snowperson' should be sent straight to a mental institution. Everyone who disagrees too. I mean come on, you can't be serious : O
PS: what's Kwaanza?

you think that some random scholastic test is supposed to prepare kids for the real world? i thought parents were supposed to do that...
parents what to take the easy way out so they push for the schools to do it these days.

when i saw the phrase. "political correctness" i knew that was a code name for one of the many imaginary skapegoats of so-called "conservatives" before i even knew who posted this. i have read excalibur_z's threads before and i do not reccomend them to others.

racism - The belief that race accounts for differences in human character or ability and that a particular race is superior to others.
I'm deffinetly not going to say that one race is superior to others. But some races are superior to others at certain things. Different races, sexes, and ages do act differently. Everyone is racist, sexist, and ageist. Every day you make judgements about people based on race, sex, age, even clothes etc. If i was hiring a rapper i would have a preference for a black person because i know white people can't rap. People are taught that making judgements about people based on race, sex, age, clothes etc. is wrong but it isn't wrong you just have to make the right judgements. Unfortunately, the judgements you make are an opinion so its hard to say who is right.

Let's end this like muscular and sexual men.
Post your SAT scores and whoever has higher than Excalibur and Reaper has a bigger penis and gets a cookie. Oh yea, and whoever has the higher SAT scores wins this debate.

Oh BTW- Reaper you are a dumbass. If I recall correctly, Washington was the centerpiece of one of the DBQs I think.
|
Oh yea... aren't reaper and excal fucking halirious? Every thread t hey make seems to involve quite a bit of false information that everyone then pegs them with. And then they take a STFU pill and never reply to those attacks. Case in point, George Washington in this thread.

USAIAN!
Calling us Americans is kind of strange, considering Canadians, Mexicans, and South Americans are all "Americans," but we are the only ones with "America" in our name. South Americans get called just that--South Americans-- but it is kind of strange. Also, it's really stupid that they are changing this now, and there is nothing else to really call people of the United States, and saying what I just typed there is just too long. It's not going to hold, and we'll still be called Americans, I think, but... who knows?
By the way, this isn't as an argument, or anything directed towards you. I just quoted you so people know where I got the whole subject from in the first place.

I've heard things about George Washington being taken off tests as a possibility, but never saw any tests that didn't mention him, when speaking of US History, unless it was from a time past his, because he is sort of irrelevant to other times (in certain cases I suppose he isn't, but..) Anyways, what test WERE you taking, ReaPeR?

You dumbshit Reaper. There are probably less than 5 questions on any 80 question APUSH test about women, esp. African American women. And about minorities? You mean you didn't like the five questions about immigration and its EFFECTS that HELPED CREATE the country that we live in today?
Let me tell you something- American would be NOWHERE as a strong a country without the immigration. In fact I would wager that it probably would have been shattered at WW2 because IMMIGRANTS are what makes this country run; labor for industry back then, and now the backbone of innovation. Not "democracy" and the picture that government leaders put up. Admittedly, they came for that, but to say that what America is today (which is the America that counts) is more based on the Founding Fathers than immigrants would be a narrow-minded statement.
And yes, the FOUNDING FATHERS are always in the APUSH test. ALWAYS, and probably around 7 questions about them. Washington was in the DBQ. Hamilton and Jefferson always have a few questions about their policies. There are always references to the rest- Adams etc. In fact, there are probably more questions about that period and its presidents than any section about women and minorities. The only section that has more than that is the Gilded Age.
BTW, I'd like to see what kind of knowledge of government and U.S. history you have because obviously you demonstrate a lot of expertise in political threads. Not the best indicator, but how well did you do on the APUSH and SAT 2 Hist?
