Im glad to hear everyone has an awesome story behind their names. mine is not awesome.

When I was like 14 or something I made this account and thought HYPNOSIS WAS FUCKING AWESOME. It's only semi cool now but damn I haven;t changed my SC ID in like 6 years!

Dark Void is a better move imho. Too bad only Darkrai can learn it.

Because of my bad spelling. I'm actually more of a macro player, and rarely ever cheese. Since i've told my friends about getting "cheased" all the time on iccup, it eventually became my handle.

Original escape velocity was so much better <3

My name comes from this guy I knew in high school who was kinda easily excitable (in a good way haha), but anyway he was reading the Merchant of Venice in his class (I wasnt) and he came to the part where the characters talk about "ducats." He started calling me ducat but pronounced it super wrong so it evolved into duckett and I thought it was an awesome name.

I'm constantly trying to think of clever IDs when making accounts, but I just don't ever come across that creative spark... so here I am.

despite being a 6th generation Canadian I still am freezing cold unless its more than 25 degrees C out, and my family comes from Acadia where in the local dialect the word "friloux" means "minds the cold".. so i figured it was appropriate

I was in programming class my freshman year of college and the professor was going over polymorphism. We started listing off animal example, and the best was, by far, the Bearigator. I always laughed about it, so here it is.

I was created in the labs of Purdue during the great chicken famine of 96... chickens started dying to the mad chicken plague, so the world needed a replacement. Purdue promised a resistant new strain of chicken, large enough to feed an american family at kfc for a week...Every week I saw the scientists drag away a dead chicken, horribly mutated, to drop it into a metal drop shaft in the wall. My dead brothers fell through the hollow metal tubes and were never heard of again. Through extensive genetic experiments, they finally created me, a chicken with no mutations capable of growing beyond the size of any normal chicken!

They called me subject number 13.

I clucked around my cage, watching the scientists, as they performed tests on me, plunging large needles into my legs to extract blood samples, and scribbling their notes. They were amazed at how I grew, and how I displayed none of the mutations that the other chickens had. But as my body grew, my brain did as well. Soon I began to undrestand what the scientists were saying. At first it was just a correlation between objects and sounds... needle... and the horrible tool they tortured me with. But eventually I started to piece together sentences, structure, and understand what they were saying. I kept my intelligence my secret... for I wanted my revenge.

It was on the day after Thanksgiving, 2006 when I decided to make my escape. Most of the scientists were returning from their families, only Scott, a new scientist on the team, had stayed. That morning, I lay down in my cell, and I pretended to act sick by making chicken groaning sounds. Scott arrived early as always, he was very enthusiastic about his job. He was immediately worried about my condition, he feared that he would be blamed since he was the one who had fed me the day before. He opened the cage, with a sterilizing needle in hand. I knew his plan... he wanted to sedate me and pretend that I had been acting aggresive for when his colleagues returned. He did not wanted to be blamed were I to die. He did not realize the peril he was in.

Immediately after he opened the cage, I flung myself up and slammed the door. Scott went flying. He realized that he had underestimated my intelligence... but too late. Before he could gather his breath, I placed his neck between my beak and ended his life.

I remembered the passwords that the scientists had used on their computers and logged in to delete all of their data... I did not want another chicken to go through what I had. Then I entered the combination to the lab door, and after wiping the blood on my beak off on Scott's lab coat, ran away to my freedom. The other scientists would arrive hours later to find their colleague and realize what had happened.

I escaped and by chance found myself in the basement of a world of warcraft addict who had died from refusing to eat for multiple days. On his computer, I found another... more superior video game... starcraft. My first few games online, I found my opponents too skilled. They with their opposable thumbs, were far faster than my beak and wing. I consistently lost.. until I switched to protoss. Eventually I got good enough to hold my own in a 4v4 fastest game. But I wanted to learn more... so I searched online and stumbled upon teamliquid. I resolved to learn from these strategic masterminds so that I could one day lead a legion of my chicken brethren to get my revenge on mankind. Now I sit here waiting... for that day...

I was actually 13 years old, when I learned what the word obese meant. I lived in the semi-suburbs of the states so one day when I looked out my window looking for inspiration, I saw a lot of fat people. I was a rather humorour kid back then, so I chose the name obesechicken13 as my Age of Empires 2 alias.
I think in our modern age technology has evolved to become more addictive. The things that don't give us pleasure aren't used as much. Work was never meant to be fun, but doing it makes us happier in the long run.

When AOL screen names were first being created I was but a young lad. I created my first name ever as Gilaboy, a combination of the Gila Monster and boy, since I was just a boy at the time. Soon after I forgot the password and had to recreate it, becoming Thegilaboy. Never look back, even though its been about 13 years or so

Due to childhood experiences with Scrabble, I came to favor the letters ZQJX more than others. (They're worth 8 or more times the points as those crappy common e's and t's and such, c'mon! They've GOT to be superior letters in the alphabet.)

When I regged for TL to make a random post of some sort, I didn't think I would actually stick around, so I just strung a few letters along with a Z to make a theoretically-pronounceable word.

I played runescape for around 7 years =D, my last account was 'Pro Murder3r', but later, for forums I've shortened it to 'Pro-M', until one day some forum didn't let use '-' in my nick so i replaced '-' with aditional 'o' =D
