my original ID was always chopsuey, but when I wanted to register it on TL, it was already taken. The story behind disciple thou is from I think 7 or 8 years ago when I was a gosu HOMM3 player and played every weekend with some friends of mine. Then another TBS came out - Disciples 2, and I switched to it, because I found it so much more fun. My buddies were not into the game, so everytime we played HOMM3 my ID was disciple to annoy them.
To think about it, disciple as a word sounds great and I like it, but it always rises the question "disciple of what?" . I'm not religious and my discipline is quite awful, so it still doesnt make any sense, but I used this ID for long enough to prefer it over my original ID
So I'm not the only one who's name story is related to HoMM...
I used to play in Halo 1 and 2 Tournaments at a card shop when I was a kid. My nickname then was Sgt.Speedy (grew up in a racing family and used to race go-karts). Pretty much all the friends I made the next few years knew me as Speedy, some kids didn't even know my real name, kids I fucking knew. So naturally I started naming all my stuff WrongSpeedy (also a Pun with my last name being Wright) made kids start calling me by my real name : (.
My friend goes on 4chan a lot and he loved these threads where people would post a picture of something but with an incorrect spelling, like beef would be BIF. Friends would be FRONDS. And we started saying our names like this. Chris - CHROS. And my fronds would keep calling me Joms. Then I replaced the 's' on the end to a 'z' making the name. My name before Jomz was Hammster. So many times I got asked if I was Dutch/Swedish ^^
When I was 15 I listened to Soilwork a lot, they have this crazy song called Machinegun Majesty I cut out the machinegun part when I joined my first CS clan.
My alt-nick Harkee is a Norwegian word from Emperors song Inno a satana, still not sure what it means, I think raven or something like that
Sometimes playing QL og CS I use MojoJojo because he is a funny guy!
I use to play Earth and Beyond, and I was trying to think of a name for my first character, and at the time, i was really into Yugioh Cards and I had just gotten my first 7 star card in a booster deck...Wingweaver....
Wanted something Canadian (Canola is a Canadian invention, actually an acronym meaning CANadian Oil Low Acid) Wanted something unique (it's always available when I sign up for something) Wanted something food related
I always wanted a unique ID that didn't really mean anything. So after alot of thinking I started off with the name Q-redo. I found out that most games won't allow the "-" in a name so I figured it was time for a change. In about 2006 I can up with the name Omican. My real name is Maickel, but Maick for shot, I scrambled the letters abit, Added an O at the front and an N at the end and Omican was born. However in most FPS games I use the nick OmNi as Omican doesnt fit behind my clan tag.
I took a couple of Ecstasy pills (german slang - well at least my friends called it that way: Mumpel) on New Years Eve 2002/2003 and some days later someone called me Mumpel Joe. I thought it was kind of funny and it stuck with me since then - the name not the drug.
