So the green ranger fights the megazord round 1 (not much of a fight, mastadon shield too overpowered)
But then... he returns and this happens...butt kicking goodness
eventually.. he gives up his powers, the honorable thing...
We will always remember the green ranger as the best... the best ranger ever
Edit: Yes he has entered into MMA (mixed martial arts) and he is quite a beast! He went into MMA after he lost his powers, he hopes to regain them one day.
I was always the blue ranger when I was growing up, and it made me sad :[. I never got to be the bad ass green ranger. And now I am the nerdy glasses wearing guy. Lame.

Blue is my favorite color :D, but I rewatched some of the old episodes, and the green ranger schools the red ranger :/. But since he gives up his powers to the red ranger the red ranger became super overpowered xD.
isnt the green ranger in MMA now? Or at least trying to be? Man his intro song better be the green ranger theme! hahahahaha. But ya green ranger was so badass when I watched as a kid. sittt suaaaa
I mean I knew Power Rangers existed, but wtf, it's not even Japanese. The actors are american. My brain just can't comprehend this existing outside of Japan.
The power rangers were so fucking awesome. The sword slashes causing explosions. I remember when I was a kid I thought it was so cool how they got burn marks all over them after taking so much damage haha
I didn't realize how useless Pterodactyl was until now.... It's by far the most superfluous component of the megazord. Oh and anyone else remember just DYINGG to buy the toy replica of the green ranger's dagger???

^This I also had an electronic Megazord and Dragonzord, but I can't find it anymore T_T
LOL we used to get so worked up about these things when we were kids.i even got worked up about stuff like Yu-Gi-Oh cards.but it all seems so silly now.
The original Tokusatsu/Super Sentai series upon which Power Rangers different incarnations are based are just so much better than the American versions I remember from my childhood days. Toei has been going since the 70s and they've really churned out some excellent stuff in the last few years. I've watched quite a few of the Heisei period series, but I'm currently catching up on the older Kamen Riders such as Kuuga, Ryuuki and Faiz. Along with Tomica there's a lot to watch.
Having said that - the US versions are wonderful for having a laugh over. Best Green ranger imho was Samurai Sentai Shinkenger's Chiaki who was in the season which just ended. I'm not loving Tensou Sentai Goseiger (the current season) yet, but we're only three episodes in.
[EDIT] I forgot to mention the epicness of Ultraman Moebius and Ultra Galaxy Mega Monster Battle (it's like Pokemon in space with men in giant rubber monster suits playing WWF.)
IDEK how I am so ridiculously knowledgable about this....okay maybe it's because I've been watching these series for over five years now.
i think he came back in a recent season as an adult. I think he was black ranger, and a school teacher to the other power rangers, which is how he discovered them.
The second vid was so badass, I remember that scene well, it was so epic. I remember tommy oliver was my favourite character, be it when he was green ranger, white ranger, even when he appeared in Power Rangers Turbo. Best ranger ever.
Mighty Morphin' was probably my favourite series, alongside Turbo. I remember Turbo was great as well, really enjoyed the movie. Sadly after that series I outgrew watching PR; found the following series to be pretty crappy and stopped watching. Good times.

That's why I put Tokusatsu which covers all the 'masked' series. It's an umbrella term used for both Super Sentai/Kamen Rider and also additional series such as Tomica Heroes Rescue Force/Fire, Ultraman and things like the live action PGSM series. I've been watching these series for over five years so you really don't have to state the obvious to me :S
Actually my students (not Japanese, but Korean.) are all far more interested in Sentai series such as the Korean dub of Enjin Sentai Go Onger (Renamed Engine Force here.) and Samurai Sentai Shinkenger (renamed Warrior Force.) than Kamen Rider Kiva or Den-o (Kiva is renamed Kamen Rider DX for some awful reason.)

good taste ^ ^;; hehe
*edit i was almost certain you knew everything there was about the different shows but i spoke more to point out that japan produces many kinds of these shows, to others
i started with the older series, and watched den-o when it was airing, then went backwards with the different kamen rider series they just get flashier and flashier i wonder if their production really stays the same between each series

Well when you think about it Kamen Rider is always far more plot heavy than any of the Super Sentai series. It makes sense that the series which more openly cater to child viewers as opposed to KR which can be really dark and violent in places would be bound to be more appealing to that demographic. I don't know whether I'd let my five year old (if I had one.) watch something like Kamen Rider Kabuto or even Kiva at times. The enemies in Kabuto would have scared the crap out of me as a kid (although I did love Ghostbusters and kooky series like Round the Twist.)
I guess it depends upon the individual, but the whole primary colors/something for everyone appeal of Sentai usually means KR and Ultraman have more adult otaku fans than they do younger fans. I've always felt like it was this arrangement;
Super Sentai; Marketed towards families/children and with an emphasis upon toy lines. Kamen Rider: Marketed towards adult otaku/fans with an emphasis upon rare/expensive collectable lines.
If you check out the difference in merchandising in magazines such as Hyper Hobby and Japan Hobby Mook you can see most of the high-end expensive collectables are KR and never usually Sentai items. Stuff like the Decade camera ($160 import.) and the Figure Arts action figures etc. They're mainly for Heisei and some Showa KR series.
'i started with the older series, and watched den-o when it was airing, then went backwards with the different kamen rider series they just get flashier and flashier i wonder if their production really stays the same between each series'
I started with Kamen Rider Blade: Missing Ace and then went back to watch the series itself. So far I've watched;
Kamen Rider Blade. (plus movie.) Kamen Rider Den-O. (plus all movies.) Kamen Rider Decade. (plus movie.) Kamen Rider Kabuto. (plus movie.) Kamen Rider Kiva. (plus movie.) (Currently watching) Kamen Rider Double/W. (Currently watching) Kamen Rider Hibiki. (Currently watching) Kamen Rider Faiz. (Currently watching) Kamen Rider Kuuga.
Decade/Den-O/Kiva etc net movies and special DVDs.
Enjin Sentai Go Onger. (plus first movie.) Samurai Sentai Shinkenger. (Some of) Boukenger. (Some of) Magiranger. (Some of) Dekaranger. (Currently watching) Tensou Sentai Goseiger.
Ultraman Moebius. Ultra Galaxy Mega Monster Battle. Live Action PGSM. (Some of) Gransazer X.
From China: (Currently watching) Armor Heroes.
To answer your question I think Toei cuts some corners from time to time such as recasting big budget names like Takeru Sato with child actors. However, the quality of the series seems to go up each time. I just wish they'd hire a better CGI team. Even in Double and Goseiger it looks awful.

LMAO. The last couple of series have had female stunt people/suit actors playing the female roles, but I believe that they have subbed in males from Japan Action Enterprise at times in the past. It's really amusing when the Japanese suit actor doesn't match up at all to the American actor/actress playing the role on the show. They did this recently in Shinkenger with the suit actor who plays Shinken-gold and he was so much chubbier than Keisuke Souma who plays Genta/Shinken-gold that all his fighting scenes for this one episode were hilarious.

In any case doesn't look like it's going down his leg; looks pointed upwards. God I'm talking about Power Ranger dicks on a Starcraft forum.

Plus one or two Tokusatsu/Super Sentai fans. I don't really want to be lumped in as a Power Rangers fan since I haven't watched those shows since I was a little girl. Looking back they seem fun, but the acting is just so much better in the originals (with a few notable exceptions of course.)
This got me looking back through Youtube for some of my older favorites;
Kamen Rider Kiva's OP;
My favorite duo ever from Kamen Rider Kabuto; Yaguruma/Kageyama the Punch and Kick Hoppers.
Also some lovely ladies - G3 Princess from Go Onger;
No need to call it shit just because I don't like the vintage stuff as much as the more recent series. I haven't even had a chance to venture as far back as Kamen Rider Black/RX/etc yet so don't bitch about what I find appealing and you don't. For me it's currently;
1) Kamen Rider Kabuto. 2) Kamen Rider Kuuga. 3) Kamen Rider Double.
I thought Kiva was one of the weaker series, but I loved the suit acting and henshins. Seto Kouji was a whiny little brat as Wataru and Keisuke Kato wasn't a particularly good IXA. The 1980s plot lines were far stronger than the current day ones. I was happy to see Kenji Matsuda in another role and Saga was definitely the best out of a weak bunch of riders in that show. I'd hardly call it shit though - it was an interesting enough series despite some really weak characterisation.

It's usually way more plot-heavy and some of the series are pretty engrossing tbh. I liked Kabuto because it had a strong plot line, believable and well-acted characters and it was very dark at times. Also the costumes are much nicer most of the time. I absolutely hate the new Tensou Sentai Goseiger ones. Oh and we get bikes....lots of bikes.
Wow, the second video made me chuckle. That show is sooo cheesy haha, its slightly enetertaining though. The kung fu scenes are pretty awesome, hah even for a kids show...

You are scratching the surface of a very horrible secret.
The truth is... America is schizophrenic. Japan is a product of America's imagination, and thus America is the producer of 100% of the world's weird shit.

Fucking awesome thread boys. Power Rangers at the top of the 'new wave of awesome children's tv shows' that happened in the 90's; with the first wave being Thundercats etc. Unfortunately, quality stopped then, and children have had nothing but shit since 2000. If you just re-ran early power rangers you would probably increase the general happiness levels amongst the child population nine-fold.

Really? When I was a kid, I remember watching them every Saturday. They had like so many friggin seasons based on different themes(dinos, native animals, automobiles, space) There was even a movie.

Easier for kids to remember who is who when they are morphed.
rofl this was the first time that I watched a clip from this show after the time that I actually watched the show as a kid. Damn I wasn't quite aware of how hilariously bad it was
hah I fucking love you piepie, I'll have you know that my first band which was grindcore metal actually performed the power rangers theme live first before any other songs hahaha
I still remember begging my mom for the hour long green ranger special when Tommy first got his suit, and the episode when he transformed into the white ranger
my parents bought me the green rangers series when I was younger-- these clips were a ridiculous flashback lol. i still remember jumping on the couch while my tapes sat in the tape rewinder so I could watch them AGAIN!
