Teamliquid fellas, The site egamers.vg is making a poll to decide which game will be the main event on a national tournament they'll be launchng on march.
I need you to vote for Starcraft, and that way teamliquid can own the internet polls one more time and, at the same time, you can help the Colombian broodwar community.
Right now the first game it's Street Fighter, with 588 votes, I am sure we can do better than that-.
Within 20 minutes, we have left DOTA behind us. Fuck yeah! (I still have the impression that it will get counted multiple times... I voted like 15 times now, so, come on guys!!)
"¡Usted ya votó en esta encuesta hoy!" when I tried to vote multiple times. Translates to: "you've already voted in this poll today" They either keep track of IPs (unlikely) or have tracking cookies (more likely) to prevent multiple votes. Maybe blocking all cookies would allow multiple votes.
nvm: I only got that message when I spam clicked the submit vote button.
edit: I spam clicked at about 3 clicks per second, and about 1/10 of my votes counted lol.

I never seem to get this message, and I can't explain why you do...
I would advise against too much multiple voting, because it causes two problems.
1. The organisers realise what has happened, get annoyed and have to rejig the votes or just disqualify starcraft, or teamliquid votes etc etc. 2. We can win without doing this. 3. We avoid getting into a spam war with fans of the less good games.
So who are we helping by doing this? Are there actually a decent amount of colombian starcraft players going to this or are we just fucking over the street fighter community?
lol.. are you sure this whole plan won't backfire. Starcraft gained 1000 votes in the past day or so, what if it does become the main event and only the 91 people (from first page) from *your* community actually want to see some Starcraft. Their site has only 4000 registered members and 1/4 of the people voted for Starcraft? lol

thats what i'm thinking. regardless, if it comes down to running scripts we can still run more scripts than any other game and then the site will declare DDOS attack.
Voted about 40 times to get SC to 1700 need moar ppl to win this =/ or a script as you guys have suggested though maybe we can outvote a script without one ourselves?
I hit refresh a few times as I was curious why the website was so slow, in less than a minute Street Fighter got around 150 votes, while Starcraft got 20ish.
Voted starcraft even though I'm definitely a street fighter player first because "Street Fighter" entails something like 10 different games if not more, unless they mean the shitty arcade SF1; that game has no fans since it's such garbage lol
What I suggest is too just open around 20 tabs and use ctrl + tab to cycle through them all either hitting backspace to go back or having your mouse over the vote button
Lol, I thought you guys did that. :p Maybe people have just been clicking really fast. After all, we have higher APM than street fighter people on computers. ^_^

hahah ive been watching starcraft vids for about 2 hours and my hands are saoo cramped from clicking Votar
Well, this got owned pretty fast. The spam vote before load works wonders too. + Show Spoiler +

Why are there such loopholes in all these kind of polls, always? Can't anyone program a proper website :/ It's kind of strange. Could learn a thing or two from localized mmorpg versions.
seriously though, Did street fighter think they had a chance, 1st of all console vs PC, 2ndly: Ithink a thousand matches of street fighter would get old

that doesnt mean stop though xD
Street Fighter's not that bad a game to watch. Just like SC, you usually need to a good understanding of the game before you can really start to appreciate the gameplay.
Come on guys, the Street Fighter and Quake fanbase are running scripts in an attempt to win this; but if they think they can win over the people who think heaven is a PC baang where every body plays Starcraft, they are up for a big surprise.
If Starcraft is the main event I will personally upload the photos giving credit to teamliquid and his Internet owning machine.
i voted again.street fighter is really catching up fast.we're only up by about 1.9k's now.but i think we're gonna win this.voting closes at 5.08 today (Colombian standard time)

Since I am not sure if you do understand sarcasm because you're from Romania let me give you a quick explanation: Nobody gives a flying fuck if you, a person with less posts than this topic, says that this thread should be closed after having 18 pages. Understood?
You suckers get off thug's back and show some respect. He's older than 98% of the people posting in this thread, and you should admit, if we would have been the better community we should have stayed out of such a rigged and poorly conducted poll, but instead here we are measuring e-penises with random children from the internet. It may be fun, but nevertheless pathetic.

4) Vote for starcraft once; wait until the result page shows up.
5) Press "Stop"
6) Switch over to the "Play" tab again and go down to "repeat macro". Change the max from 3 to 99999, then press play loop, and leave it open in another window all night.
7) You can actually do this with multiple windows, but I'm not sure how much faster it is because the more windows you do it with, the slower each one operates (also, your browsing/downloading will slow down if you do too many). Stick with 1 or 2.

Heck, how did they get so close again. It seems like SF always gains a LOT of votes within a few hours, and then it basically stops for a while. Running the macro in 5 windows simultaneously now. WE SHALL PREVAIL!
I knew we'd be drawn into a macro war with the SF fans. I tried to discourage it. All we needed to do was sit back, let everybody vote once and be done with it. We could have let the power of TL voting shine and demolish everybody. Instead we've riled everybody with our underhanded tactics, and are in the midst of a macro war. Stupid stupid stupid.
It could have been an honorable rout by the ever victorious army of TeamLiquid... instead we have this lowest common denominator scrappy fight which we might not even win. Thats leaving aside what the site's admins decide to do.

Try hitting the results button instead of trying to vote. My guess is that so many scripts are running, it's hammering the shit out of their site. Or they just disabled voting entirely.

It seems like they have removed the poll, at least it does no longer show up on the page. In that case, we should have won by a landslide... Still, we should watch out cautiously and be ready to reengage in this epic macro-war...
119897 votes for SC! I think whoever is arranging this lan might get suspicious seeing there's more votes than there are computers in Colombia and it's neighbouring countries combined.
im pretty sure the website news will be this when the poll ends As you may know, we had a poll for the best games for each console. the PC poll stood out to us. There has been more than 100000 votes for both Street Fighters and Starcraft so we decided to promote both games!...

I'm pretty sure there are more computers on Colombia and it's neighbouring countries than you think.
And this pool is so rigged it is funny. SF has 176257 and SC has 127152 votes. They are ahead by 50k votes.
Seriously, what the f*** is happening, SF got like 80k votes in the last ten hours?! This just can't be happening... can some macro expert please come up with an idea? :/
Pretty sure the webmasters of that site are having fun and adding random amounts of votes to SF seeing we always mass-counter, granting them tons of free hits.

This seems plausible, actually.
Seeing as every single SF forum I visit has nothing about this poll at all.
And votes seem to come in as packs, like they suddenly get a ton of votes and then none at all in the next few hours.
On February 06 2010 17:50 PoP wrote: Pretty sure the webmasters of that site are having fun and adding random amounts of votes to SF seeing we always mass-counter, granting them tons of free hits.
All we are doing is spamming their poll, why would they want us coming only to do that?
But it does seem crazy how SF just randomly jumped up by so many votes so quickly.
I set up 4 windows for tonight. Don't know how SF gained such a huge lead.
Hopefully we can turn things around. I think we just want to preserve our ego and not lose to some SF cheaters. This poll doesn't really matter. Who's going to go to Colombia for SC?
This reminds me of the vote in The Escapist for "Best Game Developer in history", where no matter how many votes we scrambled, Relic would get another thousand just like that. Where we would have a steady growth in votes, they'd just jump 500 votes in one update, like someone was fiddling around with the counter. And in that vote, they were checking the IP pretty hard as well
Alright by now, they're obviously not voting individually. It's probably just one guy who's hacked the site and is just upping the vote. We've basically lost unless an expert hacker like R1CH can counter-hack them.
People are asking when the poll closes. On the site it says in spanish that it will close one week before the event and that the event will be on March, but I didn't find an exact date.
And yes, I think the webmasters themselves are upping SF's votes randomly. They must like SF a lot...

The SF people can't be using a macro... their votes are going up like 120,000 in the last 12 hours
their score is increasing now. within 3 manual votes of my own they have incresed 500ish. obviously someone must have reverse engineered the packet the poll is sending and mass pipelines it to them without being restricted to the ass-slow page.

I cant figure out how to not have the smiles so remember = : P the long timeout timmer is overkill but it is helpful for when the site lags. so this macro simple votes and reloads the page and keeps voting, one vote at a time.
Now we add Autoclick 2.2 its a simple program, it just spams were your mouse is a set times a second, i set mine to 1/1000 of a sec now if you just use this then sometimes the results page will load and then you stop voting so if you use imacro with it, when that happens it will reload back to the voting page. and each time you vote with the autoclicker it will reset the load timmer on the iMacros
turn autoclick 2.2 on/off via F3
o a couple quick notes, set the imacros to loop and have it very high
It prevents my votes from getting counted most recently...

So I guess there's a limit now. We can't win because we're too far behind. Oh well, even if SC won what happens?
Poll is rigged. They probably never intended for it to be clean. I bet they planed on using SF from the start, but kept being surprised by how much votes we rallied up, so in the end they didn't even bother making it look legit.
Adding 150k SF votes in an hour... Way to be smooth.

starcraft was at the bottom half and when this thread was made we started cheating. our votes went up by the thousands. Before, SF didn't really have that many votes either, just enough to be first. Once we were about 50%, SF started cheating too. Only we were more efficient with our cheating for a while so it seemed like we won this. And now that they're actually ahead you guys are all raging about how they cheated and hacked.

Could you please elaborate why you just _know_ that we were cheating first? That would probably be interesting.
starcraft was at the bottom half and when this thread was made we started cheating. our votes went up by the thousands. Before, SF didn't really have that many votes either, just enough to be first. Once we were about 50%, SF started cheating too. Only we were more efficient with our cheating for a while so it seemed like we won this. And now that they're actually ahead you guys are all raging about how they cheated and hacked.

SF fans were almost certainly voting multiple times. When you have zero barrier to cheating, it's going to happen spontaneously, and whichever community sees the poll first is the one that's going to start cheating first.
Not that it matters. We're both abusing a very broken polling system, and I'd only be angry if this were rigged from the inside (which it very well could be).

Cheat first? BULLSHIT. Our votes went up by the thousands because we have that many legit voters, I don't think their number can match TL.
What is the mechanism? My multiple clicking seems only to register a single vote. Ok a bit of testing revealed it's a cookie-based check. You need to accept the cookie and delete it. Complicated ;(

This thread was made then we started voting legit and destroying SF, they than started getting an unreal number of votes so we started macroing. Try not to be a know-it all ass.
If you ask me, TL and any of the other online communities shouldn't have been voting for this in the first place. This is a poll for a local website, and is obviously intended for local players. I know its not exactly the biggest and most important thing ever, but this vote war ruined their poll.
I think you can write a script to send the right command directly to their communication port on that IP adres of the server. That way you bypass the clickdelay but directly imput votes at computer speeds.
Maybe with a packet tracking program someone can find out what packet transmits the vote. Then all we need to do is copy that packet and ping it to their server at incredible rates.

Voting multiple times since the very beginning is voting legit? If we consider polls with IP checks, teamliquid cannot command several thousand votes in a short period of time without cheating. Several hundred yes, but not thousands.

Voting several times isn't cheating, they could have easily made it 1 vote per ip. Using a macro IS cheating because clicking at least takes some work. They're the ones hacking.
LOL. You know that screen when you get beat in SF 1/2, it's like the guy's face smiling going 'You need to bring your A game next time!' or something? With that sad music. And your character looking really upset with their head in their hands and beat up.
Poor TL needs to tool up and learn some moves for next time . They just crouched down and lightning'd our ass.
seriously though, Did street fighter think they had a chance, 1st of all console vs PC, 2ndly: Ithink a thousand matches of street fighter would get old
They'll have about 100000 people not attending this now. I'm not going to an event that has SF on the main stage.+ Show Spoiler +
And SF got 150K votes in one hour - my guess is that they already planned for SF on the main stage, and didn't want the poll to ruin it. Which, to be honest, is reasonable.
look at the bright side. Since it is so obvious that SF cheated SC may be declared the winner (since a more constant vote count made us look like we cheated less)
Hah well at least we are the ones with a PROPER PROFESSIONAL SCENE
HAHA IN YOUR FACE STREET FIGHTERS
your right sf doesn't have a proper pro scene but its still fun as fuck and the tournaments are hype as shit
i prolly should of figured the last few posts were anti-sf/anti-fg posts
and also awhile back to teh guy who said sf is all about button mashing. sf(and fg's in general) are faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaar from button mashing (most anyways)
