If anyone that is artistically gifted has some free time (and i know a ton of you are that gifted here on TL =D ) i would appreciate some input on this drawing....it's GOING to be a tattoo for one of my good friends but most of the tattoo artists in the area have SUCKED in reproducing exactly what she wants on her for the rest of time (lol).
i would really appreciate some badass artistry on this one as i've run dry elsewhere lol, and it's her drawing not mine in the pic so don't judge! If i drew that it would look more like lines and vague representations of letters...as my artistic ability ends where strings meet fretboards O.o
thanks in advance to anyone who has input...i'll post the end product if it ends up happening
EDIT: I WILL TIP anyone that makes a design that my friend deems badass enough to put on her body, paypal, check whatever is easiest

Yeah, but that doesn't make any sense. It's the simplest design there is, no tattoo parlor would still be in business if they couldn't draw stars and letters.

that's not what she's looking for tho...i WAS looking for an artistic interpretation of it....but if this is all i'm going to get i'll ask a mod to close it, i have 6 tattoos myself, i know what i want to get where i want to get it, if i was looking for myself it would be far more intricate...i was just looking for another source since no one can recreate anything near what she wants

Well "artistic interpretation" is so vague, especially when the base elements appear so staid.
If you gave us a jumping off point, it would be a lot more reasonable.

jumping off point....i thought i did....i'm trying to be vague on purpose....i'm not the one who's going to get this on my body...again if i was the one getting it i would specify exactly how i wanted it to look, i was hoping for someone to draw it up quickly, as it's not a very complicated picture, and post a pic if they have free time.
artistic interpretation is very important to me as a recipient of tattoo's, every artist that's worked on me has either made a suggestion or done something that i wouldn't have thought of myself and i'm grateful for it as my tattoos look that much better...was kind of shooting for the same thing here....
i didn't ask for critique on how simple the design is or why tattoo artists in my area can't draw it out the way she likes...

Now you're arguing against something I never even suggested lol. What you should've done (and can still do, by the way) is make a request that a reasonable person will be able to help you with. "interpret this star with the word dream around it" is like some kind of bizarre 5th grade art project. Why not tell us what she didn't like about all the designs she's already seen, or what specifically she doesn't like about that simple design.

You might want to make the triangles of the star less long and more blocky. Also adding a 3rd dimension might be cool, google perspective if u wanna draw the star and the letters with the illusion of space. I personally like tattoos a lot more when they aren't just 2d images. I would do this for you on photoshop but it's 1 am and I'm tired.

@ sharper...her drawing not mine...sent in a text of the basic design she wants...she needs someone to take it far and beyond that, i would love some someone to bang out something sick in photoshop lol, doesn't need to be filled in either...a nautical star would be badass as well

I just have to jump in here and say that brood was just trying to help you and you've done nothing but be an ass to him. your op is really unclear: you say that tattoo artists in your town are having trouble reproducing what your friend wants (in that drawing?) so you want TL to help you make the tattoo more artistic? it doesn't make any sense, and on top of that, the request itself is too vague anyway as people have been saying.

if you want to hear what i want, i want a tattoo of a guitar that's essentially tribal in design but to still hold the basics of a guitar...the neck, the strings, the body, the bridge, the tuning keys, every detail that a guitar contains in a tribal design but so that it flows correctly and doesn't look like i've got pikachu lightning bolts all over my arm...
the idea of the thread was to get different people interpretations on how to make that look like an awesome tattoo... i know what i want MYSELF but i wanted to give her a variety of different peoples perspective on what would look good and how to make it look that way
i'm obviously not achieving that at this point

SickTight, try to be reasonable. Maybe tell ppl what type of girl she is? The above picture would probably appeal to a hardcore person into death metal and body piercings, and who's dream it is to drink the blood of her enemies, but not to a girly girl who's idea of a dream is getting her own little dog to buy outfits for. Do you really have NO other information about what type of designs your friend might like? What are her dreams? What is the purpose behind the tattoo? What music does she like? How does she dress? Etc, etc. These things form the basis for inspiration of the artist. Right now, there's basically nothing to be inspired by, and how can an artist get excited enough to want to help with something when they have no basis to go on?
Seriously, these are the things, along with a little humility and gratitude for taking ppls' time, that would have made this thread a success. I guess you could still apologize and you might get what you are asking for, but things look grim for you at the moment.

SickTighT, I am an artist and I don't even know what I would do with that plain star and text, lol. Like everyone is saying, to vague description to even reproduce something that she will probably not even like. You need to post at least what she's into, example: Stars(of course), butterflies, tornado's. You get me? Doesn't really need to be, "Oh, shes 5'4 and has a 46D." Just little facts that she might like added into the star or with the star.
