Bump, this thread doesn't have enough justice. Let me contribute to my own. This is named Mountain Octopus (산낚지). It squirms and moves in the plate. You have to chew it very accordingly in order for the suction cups to be unable to function so it wouldn't kill you inside your throat. Very good, I loved it mainly because it was one of the most excuisite dishes that I've ever tried in my life (I'm white-washed Korean, and still it freaked me out) I came across this thread again because I just searched up food in the TL Search Function. Man I miss this so much. Food is such a strong universal language yum yum..
:edit: Forgot, 게장 is freaking out of the world too.
This is one of the best dishes there is. It's a traditional finnish dish made out of raindeer and mashed potatos. Although the secret to why it's so divine is the lingonberry jam you mix the mashed potatoes and raindeer.
I strongly recommend people to give this food a shot You simply cannot dislike it.

This is from Chunchon, South Korea, where I was born. It's still so amazing after all these years, and you put rice or noodles into the leftover sauce on the pan and you eat it. Next time you're in Korea, go to Chunchon just for ^.
Drinking a smoothie now on an empty-ish stomach. Seeing all this made me hungry, and now I feel sick.
But more on topic:
This is the best sandwich in existence. It's called Hell's Kitchen, from a chain sandwich called Heidi's Brooklyn Deli. If you ever have the opportunity to try it, I highly suggest you do. I eat it about once a week now, and it never gets old.
Egg salad, bacon, swiss, lettuce, onion, and a spicy cajun sauce all on awesome bread (I usually get sourdough.) Also comes with avocado and tomato normally, but I'm not the biggest fan of either.

That reminds me: things to try while in New York: Pastrami on Rye at Katz Deli. No other place does it like Katz
Halal carts are everywhere in New York. Taste varies from cart to cart slightly, but they're all so good.
Anything with Mole would probably be my favorite food in the world, the amount of flavor is just unbelievable, and it has a certain proustian quality to it for me due to my upbringing.
In the same vein, Tacos al Pastor are fucking amazing.
The best non-mexican food to my mind would have to be French onion soup.

Ecuador: Fanesca with slice avocados, Muchines de yuca and fried plantain.
Fanesca: Its a salted cod/salmon stew with mix vegetables, normally served with fried plantains and fresh slice avocados. Its components and preparation may vary from one region to other, this one however is from Ecuador's Coast Region.
Muchines de Yuca: As an appetizer they're made from grated yuca filled with cheese or ground pork.
I grew up in Southern California as a kid in the 70's and In-n-Out was only a block away. Now, the nearest one is 45 minutes away. I couldn't eat there everyday that's for sure, but oh man whenever I'm on the road, it's hard not to stop!
