prolly gonna think twice before giving the award to messi since he already won it last year and he can win many more in the future considering his age

(not saying he's better, messi is by far the best, just talking about yesterday) I think the problem with "best player" is it doesn't take into account that football is very much a team game. Messi was the best striker. His control in the box is probably the best of any player ever, it's simply amazing. He links up beautifully and of course can dribble round people Ronaldo was undoubtedly the best winger in that game. His pace is ridiculous and he goes past players for fun. But then Xavi plays the midfield role like a God, he's like almost untouchable.

He needs so little space in the midfield, yet he can go in ANY direction. He can swirl and twirl and cut and curve his body in any direction and set up the perfect pass toward goal or play it back to the safest barca defender to once again keep the Barca machine working. Seriously, he like NEVER messes up. It's truly unreal. best midfielder in the world by far imo...

This is amazing! Roma played super well in the first half (Totti's nutmeg and assist to the second goal was great :D), but almost threw it away in the second. It got a little to close for comfort. 3 points in the end though! Yay! Huge thanks to Fiorentina for making this possible! <3 Totti's status in Roma is quite funny; he was going to get substituted (the assistant ref even showed his number on that board), so he runs over to the line and says a few words, runs back out on the pitch and a minute later Menez gets subbed out. XD Next weeks game will be amazing! Roma vs Lazio, which is normally one of the hottest games in the world, will get a lot of additional spice due to the intruiging situation; Roma are fighting for the gold and Lazio are fighting for their survival in Serie A. Heaven/Hell. Seriously, even anglophiles should watch it! I'm already nervous as fuck. Messi is the best forward in the world, Xavi is the best midfielder. They are incredibely different from each other have completely different roles and it's a matter of definition and personal preference who you consider to be the overall #1, but in my book Messi is ahead by quite a bit. I love Xavi though, playmakers FTW!

Xavi is way more important to Barca than Messi is. messi (and iniesta) ((and sort of busquets now)) can pretty much do what xavi does. That is, move the ball around with fluidity and vision. Of course Xavi is the daddy when it comes to this though, i'm not taking anything away from him... however, xavi can never in a million years do what messi does... i can understand how some believe that a player like xavi would be more instrumental in a team. but let's face it, it's 10x more easier to make a sick amazing through ball than it is to chest the ball in the box, dance around a defender and chip the keeper.

Lots of shit can happen. Gotta try my best to lay low, stay modest and not get my expectations up too much. ![]() ![]() Sometimes I wonder why I care so much about a fucking football club (especially when things go bad XD), it's quite unlogical to feel so passionately about something that's so irrelevant when you put it into perspective. But days like this shows me why and it makes it all worth it. Natural high FTW! It's both a gift and a curse to root for a team so deeply, to be so emotionally tied to them and have my happiness depend on their success.

As for the Barca battle, Messi's teamates call him the god of football, so because Xavi had one exceptional match does not make him greater than Messi when even he calls Messi a football god. And I wouldn't call Messi a striker, he is more of a attacking winger, because you can't deny his ball distributing skills in the middle of the field.

Barca need to snatch Torres LOL Iniesta is more talented imo, the thing about Xavi is how solid and instrumental he is for the team. The guy NEVER loses the ball and ALWAYS makes the right passes, it's amazing how effective he is, unlike Iniesta who can do some beautiful tricks but from time to time he loses posession or doesn't perform too well, of course this in proportion to xavi's performance
