Website: http://www.estiah.com/

Wiki: http://estiah.aswt.net/index.php?title=Main_Page

Estiah is a PVP focused browser based (mmo)RPG. It features traditional RPG classes but has a combat system with a rather impressive amount of depth. Each class has access to specific items/weapons/armors/spells and such, and you built a "deck" out of them ala Magic: The Gathering. You select one of your decks before combat and use those abilities as the fight progresses.

A majority of the game world is open PVP and you can be attacked almost anywhere while playing. Guilds can control territory and towns which can then be contested and sieged by other guilds. It also features an arena system with ranking and matchmaking (1v1,2v2,3v3), as well as Guild vs Guild skirmishes.

Doing actions costs "Action Points" and you get more every few hours so it's not a game that you can play all day, but it's still a fun 15-30 minute time waster if you're bored at work. It would be nice to get a TL guild running to gank people or whatever.

Registration is free and you can do it through the website link at the top. If you're willing to use me as a referral my character name is "Aurra". I get a few action points to play a bit longer so I can waste more of my life away to this game. Or you could register through this link:

How would 2v2 and 3v3 work in a browser based game? Is it turn-based?

Yeah it's turn based, each player uses one item/ability/card/whatever at a time and it alternates between all the players.

Setting up a guild requires one player to be level 20 and 5,000 gold. The gold is no problem but level 20 seems like it could take awhile.

You might create the guild for us since you're a bit ahead of the rest of us. Do you know how long it takes to hit level 20?

so what do we do with the charms that become useless to us? I can't seem to find a way to sell em, so i guess we just store them away?

Just archive them. You can only sell items, not charms.

I found out today that if you do the first dungeon 5 times through you get a skill completition and 500 gold which is nice when you're just starting out.

10 people have signed up under me so far so it seems like we could potentially get a decent pvp guild running once one of us hits that level.

Having a lot of fun so far but its really annoying how slowly you get action points, just as you start to get in to the dungeon thing and feel like you're ready to slay some beasts you notice that you have ran out of action points. T-T

Surprised to see that there hasn't been more activity in this thread btw., games like this have been super popular @ tl before.

edit: made a second character "Wemadefox", cool they don't mind if you make multiple accounts.

I feel kinda stupid, I wasted like 45 action points trying to defeat bosses in River's Edge, forgot it said Level 5, and I was just level 4 =(

This is a game of patience man...waiting on these action points lol.

I'm out of stuff to do today I think. D:
Not much else I can do after I clear out the sewer because the other dungeons or w/e are too hard. Guess I'll have to gather.

Edit: Awww shit, just found the arena.

what is it with these damned action point based games. They're a dime a dozen and none of them are any fun. Too many travian memories to ever play one of these competitively.

Yipes, not much action going on here! I've found the game to be quite entertaining so far, and I can see that it gets quite deep as I'll progress. I've made 2 characters, "ThatGuy" (Fighter->Mercenary->Berserker) and "Fyodor" (Scout->Rogue->Assassin). Game unfortunately doesn't grant enough Action Points at a fast enough rate, IMO.

Sure! Leveling is based on filling the "Character Growth" bar on the main character page, which is essentially raising those 4 core stats (Power, Dexterity, Constitution, Intelligence). Whenever you raise one or more of those stats, your growth bar is adjusted accordingly based on how many points you went up. You can raise those stats by working in jobs, taking an academy course, or working on the tons of character skills like Sword, Frost, Armor, etc. You can find all the skills and benefits listed in their wiki.

Bear in mind that it's actually more beneficial to level slowly so you have more time to master as many skills as you can, and some skills are more difficult to master at later levels (including Courage and Heroism), so feel free to take your time if you wish!

EDIT: @Phantom: You can complete any dungeon at any level, the number you see listed is just what their recommendation is. I was able to complete River's Edge at level 2 because I planned my deck accordingly.

i don't like how the combat system randomizes my cards. I was in a pvp battle with someone that had challenged me. he was a level under me and had 2HP left, instead of using an attack i gave myself 11ward and died from 9 melee. -_-"

Haha yea, when I first started, thought I would be able to choose what to play like a deck game.

Anyway, can anyone knowledgeable go over jobs?
I've been an errand boy twice and am about to switch.
Thing is, I have no idea what to switch to -
shop helper - farm hand - courier - mailman - farm assistant

My idea was to keep switching jobs to try to keep a balance but I'm pretty sure that isn't efficient.

Say I want to be an assassin or summoner or w/e later on; anyone have idea how my stats should align according to class?

Also, what increases hitpoints?

Depending on which third tier class you want you usually are going to max out those stats necessary for that (see the classes page on the website if you haven't yet) one and then dump the rest on either one of the left stats, usually it doesn't matter that much which you choose to max out as the third stat.

You get hitpoints from jobs and maxing skills, no idea if theres any other way of increasing it.

I've retired my other characters and am now playing under "Player" and this should now be my final character.

I'm concentrating on Intellect, Dexterity and Constitution, no idea which class I'm going to take lol but I'll just choose one that doesn't need Power.

It probably wouldn't hurt too much to have a few points misplaced if you aren't like lvl 10+ already, but I guess if you want perfect you might as well start over now. =P

Don't bother starting over, levelling gets a lot slower as you progress. Bear in mind that you can accumulate up to 900 attributes, so misplacing a couple early on is no tragedy.

I'm a few points from level 15. At 20 I'll be able pick my first class (Going Scout > Shaman > Inquisitor) as well as form the guild.

I'd probably be level 17 or 18 right now but I decided to take jobs to level the Horse Riding skill and those jobs do not give stat points so it has been slow. Tomorrow I'll max that out though and start leveling fast again.

The more I play this game the more I like it. There's a lot of really creative abilities/charms as you get at higher levels that add a decent amount of depth to the game. I've built a rather strong pvp deck and my win rate is about 90% this week. I'm starting to engage people 3-4 levels above me for a challenge & better rewards

I've also been at this game very actively and have the same opinion of the game as Aurra, lol. I have 2 accounts running ATM: a Fighter -> Wizard -> Pyro and Scout -> Rogue -> Assassin, both around level 12-13.

I didn't want to be the guy to bump this .

I'm really loving this game. Sexy web design, no annoying ad spam, fast loading pages, cool combat system and a lot of possibilities in the variance of character development. My only gripe really is that I'm getting far too few things to do per day!

... which is why I have four characters.

Anyhow, here's the guy I'm playing currently. Give me a poke if you're still in this game, whoever.

So I've been playing Estiah since this thread was created, and the game is still damn fun. I've bumped this thread in an attempt to get some new faces and new discussion for Estiah, and to generate hype for Estiah II (which no one knows anything about).

I'm currently a level 45 Pyromaniac with a Level 41 Warlord and 33 Rogue (going Assassin) as my alts. I've got a lot of experience with the game now so if you have any questions (complicated or simple) feel free to ask anything!

Another note, if you are new, please do not list the OP as a mentor. He went inactive months ago, and he also has his Mentoring skill maxed at R5 which means it cannot go any higher. If you wish to have a mentor (which gives nothing but benefits to the mentor), you could probably go on Estiah IRC and find someone who wants it there. I believe Onnings (the post above this one) still plays too, so you could also use him. There's also myself :p.

Lastly, the Estiah Wiki link posted in the OP broke months ago. You can find the new wiki here: http://progenitor-softworks.com/ew/index.php?title=Main_Page
