Hopefully this can be a thread for people to get help finding obscure or old games they forgot the names of.
And where would this thread be without someone asking for help!
I'm trying to find an old gameboy game. In the game you had a group of characters that you moved around in a battlefield and fought individual battles with them. Sorta like Final Fantasy Tactics except on a bit of a larger map. I'm pretty sure it was an RPG and part of a series of games. Though all google, wiki, and mobygames searching brings up nothing similar to it.
I never actually owned the game an old friend whom I've lost contact with had it so I could be wrong about one or more of these things.

Fire Emblem was never on gameboy.

|
It was original gameboy (otherwise I would have mentioned GBC or GBA). And dammit, SonuvBob, I searched but couldn't find a thread dedicated to this already.
I checked the FF's and managed to go through just about every game labeled as RPG.
EDIT: Ok that's frustrating, the closest I could find in your link ydg was a game called Crystal Warriors which I missclicked because it looked like GB (but was GG). I'm almost 100% positive the game I'm looking for was on Gameboy though because I remember us both having the huge brick gray one back in the day and he didn't buy non-nintendo consoles.

Two games from that list; Super Robot Wars (and variants) and Little Master (and its sequel)
Assuming it's an English game.. Another Bible? Lol. I'll keep looking.

Sorry I can't help the OP but this game has been bugging the hell out of me for years now because I just can't remember much about it.
It was a computer game, not sure what genre exactly but I guess the best description would be turn-based strategy? It basically had you in control of some sort of team that was made up of an assortment of 3 different creatures; there was one small one that could move faster but wasn't very durable, a medium sized one (I think it was called Prometheus or Promethean? I searched google really hard but obviously had a hard time finding anything by that criteria), and a big guy who was slow but hit really hard (the name for this guy was really short I remember, I think it was Gronk or Gonk or something like that). The object as far as I can recall was to have one of your guys pick up a ball and..do something with it. If the other team got the ball you had to attack the guy who had it to get it back. Sorry the description is vague but it's been bugging me a lot so I figured I might as well see if anyone knows. The graphics were really crude as I recall so I'm guessing the time period was around 1990, but honestly I can't even remember when I played it exactly.

Well I found a few games that are tactical rpg-esque but they're all from Japan only and I'm assuming your game is an English port right? (not a fan translation)
That fits but it's Japanese (Marchen Club) I'll try to keep looking

ok so i posted this in the last thread but here are two games that REALLY bug me and i want to find
1. ) It's a sort of beat em up game... made in early 90s probably (maybe late 80s?) I seem to remember it being called 'Knights of X' or 'Warriors of X' or something... but i cant remember X... there were loads and loads of different 'characters' like giant eyes, knights, slime, soldiers... but in the end most of them were the same in gameplay... there was a mode where you could have a huge 32 player bloodbath fight... I found the game on the 1001 games PC compilation CD. But I just cant find that anymore...
2. ) It's an old turn based strategy game, which I swear was called 'stratagem'... it featured 'Orcs' vs 'Humans'... but it was bizarre and unlike other TBS... you had 'castles' and you went around and it wasn't very groundbreaking... but the graphics werent awful... and i remember magic played a very big part of it... the graphical style I think was somewhat similar to Warcraft 1/2
Cheers : )

Sorry chuiu and the others i dont know any of these.
1)I want to find a game for (old)gameboy. Its a first person shooter o something like that where i piloted some kind of ship. Graphics were really simple because they tried to emulate that sort of poligonal design of snes-starfox but in gameboy (go figure...). Never knew the name because all the instructions and game was in japanese.
2)In all the types of fake nes or famicom here in Chile they included some sort of build-in games (the most simple games like mario duck hunt etc). The game im looking for is a football game with 5 players per team and green field. Camera was always top view with goals up-down and when the ball went next to each goal the camera switched to back the goal.
thanks!

This is all I remember of the game hopefully somebody knows what I'm talking about Taken from my blog
I looked at screenshots from paraworld and they didn't really ring a bell.
And another game I just remembered was some sort of robot game similar to pokemon it was for gameboy colour and you captured robots with magnets or something like that.
Like the other game I have little recollection of the game so it's hard to describe but hopefully SOMEBODY will know what I mean.

Oh shit I know that second game...Robopon?

Alright, there's this game where you are a man with a shovel I think, and you walk around on a top-down perspective battlefield. You dig holes, and aliens fall into them. Then you quickly have to cover the holes up again before the aliens escape. Then the aliens die and I believe you win when all have been buried.
It was for Gameboy, and I think there was a "Normal" and "Classic" mode for the game, the difference being Classic had ghetto graphics and was clunkier to control as I remember.
|
Sounds a lot like Lode (sp?) Runner, might not be it though.

Oh god I want to face palm now. I just had the chance to talk to my friend (and he's coming to visit his family here soon also) and asked him about it. Apparently he did have a game gear and Crystal Warriors was the game. Though for some mindfucking reason I still remember it as black and white on a gameboy. I guess its not so bad, this was around 10 years ago and I was always half-asleep every time I saw him playing it anyway (ie: in school waiting for class to start).
|
uhm there's this game i played back at 2000, kinda like battle city but on 3d and you can also use a chooper and a buggy... had destructible walls, trees and huts...

Ok well, I think this thread didn't get enough attention and I'm sorry to bump it with a request of my own and not help anybody else but I tried searching for all these and couldn't figure them out.
The game I'd like to find I don't remember much of, it was a computer game and basically there were I think 8 gods all had their own colour and it was a turn based game (I think) similar to Wrath Unleashed for the Playstation 2.
If I remember correctly there were 4 gods that were evil and 4 that were good. I'd love if anybody has any ideas, don't be afraid to give something even if you think it may be wrong as it might help me remember.

Bumping the thread for another game that's been bothering me.
It was sort of like a kingdom sim game where you built up a kingdom and could fight/spy on other kingdoms. A couple aspects of the game that stand out in my mind are the ability to make and set traps around your kingdom to fend off attackers. And the ability to create your own creatures by mixing other creatures you have made or captured from the enemy (resulting in some wierd shit sometimes). Game came out in the 90's sometime, it was an old PC game.
|
im not sure about the "making" and mixing creatures part, but the rest of it sounds like Dungeon Keeper. You could sacrifice units there to get new ones though.
|
I can't for the life of me remember the name of this game.
It came out in 90's and was a medical based game that my mom bought because she wanted to educate us on germs. (She's a nurse) s You were the pilot of a spaceship that got shrunk down and flew into sick people to kill their germs. The more missions you completed the higher the rank you got and there were ceremonies every time. The missions took place in all the major organs in the body and had real diseases.
Hopefully someone played this too so I can download it and relive the good ol' days

I'm looking for a game.
In the 90's, I think it was a freeware game that came on one of those cheesey "50 games for windows" or whatever. It was very simple.
Gameplay was reminiscent of Asteroids, controlling a ship in real time with the arrow keys and one weapon. However, you could land on planets, and after a certain time, you would claim them. They would produce ships that would start mining asteroids or something. It was all automatic though, so you were basically just flying your ship around landing on planets.
Considering how not mainstream it was, I think my chances are kind of slim T_T

I'm looking for a PC fantasy RTS, it came out during or before 2004 for sure (really distance memory, might have been available anywhere between 2002-2004). I remember it had at least two (three?) factions. The humans and the dark sides (complete with zombies or ghouls, you know, the little fragile undead units), I think there's an orcish side as well. But the distinguish feature is this: there are fundamental differences between the factions. the undead are all individually weak but get their upgrades or experience together, the humans are expensive and strong but they gain experience individually (or could that have been the orcs? I don't remember). I know the unit selections have green circles under their feet (yes, I know every game has them, this one too). I think there are weapons that can be purchased and go around to individually upgrade humans or the orcs, not too sure about that.
Not keeping my hopes up lol, is bumping allowed?

Can anyone remember that thread with PvZ strategies history? (there was a translated article about how PvZ evolved in terms of strategies and what counters what, etc). I'll give more details if needed ... I've been looking for 15mins for it but can't find it Thanks in advance <3

Hi guys. I was just wondering if anyone can remember this PC based RPG from the mid-late 90s. All i can remember from it was something to do with questing with the assistance of some sort of species of dinosaurs. I think it was set on a planet/time where dinosaurs were an intelligent species. (Talking etc) all I can muster up as far as a title is concerned is maybe "Eden" something? But that’s just a strange hunch I have. Any help would be greatly appreciated (I’m well aware I’ve not given you all a great deal to go on) Thanks.

I wanna say Dinotopia, but I've never played that or any game like it.
|
Not sure I can help out any of you that's still looking for the names..
I have one I'm looking for, it's for the old Sega and I think it'll be easier if I just say it's comparable to UN Squadron for the SNES, expect with a prop plane and a Blimp.
Anyone? anyone?
