hi, i just bought street fighter 4 today, and i use the ps3 controller, when i use the controller to play, i can barely do combos, is anyone feeling the same way ?, or is it just me and my sucky fingers ? And also do you suggest i should just buy a MadCatz controller or joystick?

I have problems with the PS3 controller and fighting games as well, so I purchase fighting games for 360 instead of PS3. That's about all I can recommend.

never gonna be easy playin with a controller. Some people do it though if that makes you feel better.

I'm pretty sure that every SF4 player says that the 360 controller is the worst possible controller you can use for SF

some combos are just harder to do on the controller
im feeling that most people have joysticks now =p
thats why you see a lot of ken and ryu shit online cause they have easy moves compared to the rest if you dont have a joystick

Get an arcade stick. IMO it's pretty hard to play on pad compared to stick. Also I don't think the 360 pad is that bad. It's about as good as the playstation pad tbh.

I imagine some fadc combos are kind of tough. Charge characters however a bit easier to grasp on a pad.

haha the 360 controller is the absolute worst option for fighting games SF4 included.

the ps controller is average/decent but if you can't adjust go for an arcade stick it is unanimously the best option

itll take some practice for the controller of course. your not going to master it in one nights play. if your planning to go pro status. invest in the arcade stick controller. doing directional with the joystick is a lot easier than pressing the d pad.

Arcade stick controller > D-pad on ps3 controller > ps3 controller's joystick.

if hes on ps3 he could get a hrap 3 for cheaper, practice on it, find out it could use better parts etc and it would be less than aia. and a modded ps3 se would be cheaper than both.

I use 6axis, or the stock xbox360 controller, and i can perform all basic moves, just not the Hard combos. Inputs are not impossible its just they wont act fast enough. and its just getting used to the controller.

no one really good uses a controller just not as accurate in placement of a dp you also can't get the feel right becuase controllers are smooth all the way around instead of locked into 8 where you can feel when you hit it

I can do combos on a 360 analog. PS3 is harder, but I can do simple combos as well. J.HP, d.MK, fireball XX super.

WHAAT? Bet it was never easy for you guys to play starcraft with hotkeys, either.

Just keep doing them. The more you play, the more callused your thumbs will get and the better the controller will feel.
