Ok were like herp 5 carriers in a mission, lets crash that party.
So here we are

We notice theyre getting reinforcement forming up on the ingate 1j out, while having about 5 ships on the outgate. So with those carriers still in local we warp to the gate and start nanoing.
Then with this on the field

Sorry about double posting but

We were hunting a Zealot and a Domi doing a mission in sakulda, we warp in there, and they warp out. They sit on 0 on a station and i opened up on them, the domi was RR and were repping the zealot. When the Zealot aggressed i told vov to undock but when it hit armor (It was shield tanked and being repped by the domi) no one had a point on it and it warped out. Now they cyno in carriers, i snipe the navitas(http://teamliquid.killmail.org/?a=kill_detail&kll_id=9235477) and then the carriers keep repping the domi up so we give up and sit on the second pocket of their mission (where carriers can't come in) we sit there for half an hour until they log out. We dock up and sit there and then the cyno guy comes back, he docks as vov undocks and he undocks too, it's an arazu, the arazu scrams vov and he asks me to undock as the local +6d as i undocked their fleet landed and i was within scram range from everything, got a singly cycle out heated, but wasn't enough, we overheat everything and hope for the best, we pop the arazu(http://teamliquid.killmail.org/?a=kill_detail&kll_id=9235661) and moments later vov pops(http://teamliquid.killmail.org/?a=kill_detail&kll_id=9235669) so he says on ts "I'm dead" and i reply "Yeah i think i'm dead too mate" and as i said that, the two ships that were scramming me weren't anymore i was like "WTF" turned MWD on but took a few seconds to reget acceleration to warp to where i was pre aligned to. Got out, fucking A. Hero Drake.

Its technically impossible for them to make the missile launcher animation from the current physics engine. Turrets are not real objects, they do instant damage because they dont exist as bullets. Missiles however launch from your cargo the ammo into the "server node's" cargo until impact. Thus, the missiles appear from the middle of your ship (ships are actually 1 dimensional with a collision radius).

If missiles were to be launched from positions of the ship, it would have to have all its range values recalculated, and a bunch of other implausible things that CCP cant do.

Yeah, thats one of the problems with missiles and the way they work.The other one is the lag inducing component of all those calculations that have to be made when missiles are used - especially in huge fleet fights. I am hoping for a rework fixing both problems

But i fear that has to go a long way...
