Might have issues with smartbombs or chasing anything fast but beyond that I doubt for its size there is a much of match. Not sure how much of Heavy Drone damage is applied to cruisers though. There are cruisers that can fly faster (Cynabal, Vaga, Navy Cara/Osprey) but they cannot project as much damage. In a way you get to project the same damage as a Domi but on a cruiser hull. A Gila has the same drone bay and bonus but it has about 10-15% less speed. (but it does have a shield res bonus) The one thing it might die to is a faster kiting cruiser that the drones cannot keep up with, reducing your DPS to near zero. Unless you overtake and neut it, you'd probably lose to it. (but I assume that's what the rest of the gang is for?) Whilst trying to find a matching cruiser, I actually tried an Arty Cynabal, didn't look all that bad though I wonder how tracking would affect it. Also tried a Rail Vigilant, but I think having it actually web something is way more useful. I suppose with the upcoming HAC changes, an XL ASB Vaga (gets 7.5% shield boost bonus) might be a thing. With the 7.5% bonus and using navy cap charges, you can boost 1347.5 shield HP nine times (almost 1500 shield HP if you overheat), adding over 10k total raw shields. Might try a Cyclone with an XL ASB someday... As for the VNI, unless you're attached to the PDS shield bonus, wouldn't cap relays provide more cap? | ||

The PDS gives 3 bonuses you like whereas CPR is better for cap only. I did look at them but I felt the PDS was better. It's role is more than just kiting, it's being used as a frigate intercept ship with those neuts. The drone based weapon system is immune to mindflood penalties and gives you a bunch of spare highs which you can turn into a neut longpointing ship. Also berserkers with the VNI bonus go 2k/s and will, in theory, tear into a neuted out frig. The VNI flies between the laser ships and the enemy fleet pointing the primary, splitting their frigates up, stopping them moving and also applying pretty high dps to whatever it is you want dead. It can also shut off mwds on things off station. Medium neuts are seriously powerful mods. | ||
