Mintchip's hiring is strong evidence of CCP improving as a company. It is a reversal of their previous hiring policy which hired people based on whatever criterion Michael Bolton III met.

I figured out tag rats. Basically they were added to the beltspawn pool so you can easily force them to pop up if you just start clearing belts. Spawns are as fallows:
0.4 Trainer tags, -10 to 8, worthless 0.3 Recruiter tags, -8 to -5, worthless 0.2 Transporter tags, -5 to -2 i will need in bulk 0.1 Negotiator tags, -2 to 0 i will need these in slightly less bulk
As noted above i will need transporter and negotiator tags in bulk, the other tags are worthless as I never will have my sec status below -5. If you come across these tags and feel generous I will gladly take and use them.

Vov if you can get me 4 transporter tags for a reasonable price I'll be extremely grateful.

How much sec do the tags give you?

It appears to be 1 point per tag+10m

Prices: There are 4 levels of sec gain and each demands different levels of tags. -10 to -8 = 4 tags at 3 million ISK per tag -8 to -5 = 6 tags at 4 million ISK per tag -5 to -2 = 6 tags at 5 million ISK per tag -2 to 0 = 4 tags at 6 million ISK per tag A full sec gain will cost 90 million ISK from -10 to 0 in one swoop. It is one tag per .05 sec.
CCP Masterplan confirmed that the 4/6/6/4 pattern is correct and that it is .05 per tag.

Wait it now costs a measly 90m to go from -10 all the way to 0?! That's a lot cheaper than I expected.

Plus tag cost; unless you farm the tags yourself, in which case, they are of course free.
|
Trainer tag: 20m Recruiter tag: 50m Transporter tag: ~200m Negotiator tag: only a few in jita right now at ~150m so all in all about 2,2b, but i figure the tag prices will go down.

Oh I thought those costs were for the tags.

Oh man, those tags. I made maybe 400 million in about two hours today, most of it from two Transporter tags that sold for 175 million each. Soon the gravy train will come to an end, but who knows when?
Edit: Plus killing one of those rats gives a 0.4% sec status bump by itself, which is not bad at all.

I am currently sitting on 13 transporter tags, all from very casual ratting since I spent 90% of the day laughing at the tears all over the eve forums. While the tags i get myself are not infact free, each transporter tag allows me to pull off roughly 2 ganks. This means that assuming I can get an average of over200m in loot per gank I wil actually be making more isk farming the tags myself than selling them, or buying them off market and dealing with the logistics of moving them.
Compound this with the fact that I can get a tag every 10-15 mins of actual ratting and its quite obvious that unless I can buy a very large volume off the market (not happening yet since tags just came out) or am in dire need of isk (which obv isnt the case) farming them and keeping them in a concord station is the the most cost effective thing to do.

why not sell the tags now, then buy back later? you know the prices are silly inflated at the moment.

But BBQ, everyone in EVE might suddenly decide that being a pirate in lowsec is totally worth it now that you can grind your sec status back with ISK instead of time - and thus the price will surely rise over time as this movement gains traction.
