WTF. I'm reading the next changes CCP is thinking of, and I'm sitting here wondering when did they read my posts? :D
(http://evenews24.com/2013/03/24/en24-insider-pax-east-ccp-games-meetup-tidbits-of-the-upcoming-odyssey-expansion/)
- Moving ressources, in my mind, one of the best solutions to make ratting and industry more dynamic and interactive. - Possibility of impacting the sec status (seriously, if I kill all rats all days, it should go up!). I hope they look into the fact that being at a low sec status is only positive, and how illogic it feels.
I'm happy about the pos rework, since I was thinking of starting to do stuff with them. I don't really know what they'll do with new systems. Most of 0.0 is in fact empty and held to make grinding harder and protect the few systems with high value. But if they add systems with different rules, we could end up with something interesting.

I already got a 8.5b offer and I am not rich enough to run a charity at the moment.

For someone who has never played EVE before, how easy is it to get into. Will I just exist at the bottom rung of the player base or are there servers for new players?

You start in high sec and can play there, where it's safe for new players, because it's not cost-effective to gank newbies in high sec since gankers are instakilled by CONCORD. It's still pretty hard to get into though, it's a deep and complex game. The tutorials are great to get you started though.

The expansion timming is great, i'll be over my SC HOTS frenzy and ready to get back into MMO mode again. Also I'll have alot more time to dedicate since I'm going back to school (again).

You shouldn't view skill points in eve as a linear metric- instead imagine it as a web. Going in a certain direction in that web can allow you access to new ships and weapon systems, but the further you progress in a specific direction, the less of an advantage that progress provides.
You could min/max a role, such as "I want to be the perfect Tengu pilot!" and advance towards it, but more than likely you will want to fly a variety of ships (assuming you do PvP). This means that you want to fly many ships well, rather than, a few ships amazingly/perfectly.
Also, Eve is a game where you can decide what you want to do, and just do it. If you are looking for small gang PvP, look into FW or pirate corps, or if null sec seems amazing to you (it isnt tho) you can pursue that too. You can fly a ship that is amazingly useful after 24 hours. Over the next week, use your skill points to learn to fly that ship better as you work to fly better (non-skillpoint wise) as well. Within a month you can be a line member in your drake! and fit in with the rest perfectly.
In any case, don't let SP scare you. There is plenty to do.

Hello TL Eve Fans !
I was wondering if the offer in the OP was still valid. I'm currently considering starting Eve Online, and I figured it would be a bit more interesting with other players in a corp, who could help a bit, in exchange of services or anything else the corp could use.
Thanks !

You need to get onto teamspeak tbh. The chat channels in eve are kind of dead.

After tchatting a bit in-game, someone told me that the mentoring is gone... I was wondering if there still are corporations related to TL that still welcome newcomers.

Much like Kwark wanted to be the candidate who actually undocks, everyone on that list is the candidate who actually fills out the proper forms
