So Orandos, Litharis, Mobius and I went on an impromptu roam through Black Rise. It was really a spur of the moment thing with Orandos and I talking about fits and him deciding to do some solo and me offering to tag along. (Beforehand he was diligently cyno policing) The two of us went off in a Hookbill and Crucifier and ironically did not come across even one turret ship. We chased a Corax and crossjumped some random stuff like a Merlin, etc... and then we found a Caldari Militia destroyer gang populated by mostly Coraxes and Talwars sitting on the gate of the system we jumped into.

Despite my Crucifier mostly useless, Orandos decides to bossmode and he begins to pick at the pirates in their gang. I'm sitting on zero of the gate when all the destroyers begin to yellowbox me. Obviously they're gonna go for the alpha but :missiles: so I wait for the redbox and jump out. Now they're taking gateguns since I was neutral and begin to warp out. Orandos being the boss he is, catches last man and begins to hammer him down. I jump back in and join in the fight offering mere dishonour drones and a token small neut. We're expecting them to land any second (and in retrospect I should have used the damage drones I carried) and we burn off. We get out of range and the Coraxes do no damage and could not keep up. Two Talwars overheat and attempt to pursue but we are still faster. Then me being an idiot decides to warp to our outgate at zero, where a Corax of their fleet had stayed behind (whether intentionally or not) and as soon as I land I'm pointed. A second later the rest of them land and I explain to Orandos why his wingman is about to needlessly lose his ship. As soon as I warp my pod out Orandos lands at a safe distance and watches as an EUni shield cruiser gang also lands and forces off the Caldari Militia destroyer gang (they had 4-5 Coraxes and 2-3 Talwars).

I head back to reship where I meet up with Litharis and Mobius. Meanwhile Orandos bounces around the system and spots a Rokh and a Drake shooting each other on the station undock. He proceeds to shoot at the suspect and somehow dies to station guns. The other three of us in Caracal Thorax Sential head back down to where the action is. On our way I note there is an Erebus on dscan. Litharis and Mobius note that there is cyno at a gunless POS.

We spot a SFI defensive plexing, chase it for a bit, by then we add a Hawk, then proceed to our destination, which is now empty, and then decide to head to Tama.

There's a bunch of suspects in local so we split up and try to find them. Orandos being the lucky guy he is finds them on a gate and he lands on a suspect Stabber and proceeds to point while we all warp in. The stabber responds and they become entangled as we quickly join the fight. Litharis TDs the stabber and Orandos' Hawk then proceeds to receive no dps from the stabber. As we approach Orandos gets the stabber into low shields for me to volley it into armor with Mobius finishing it off. Right before the stabber goes down... suddenly a Falcon decloaks! It's 35km off me, as Falcons would be, so I turn around and point it. It misses the first jam cycles (...wat?) and I get it into 2/3rds shields. Then ANOTHER Falcon decloaks! (wat?!) Then I'm jammed, but Mobius has point on the other Falcon! Somewhere along here gate guns decide to shoot Orandos which shouldn't be shooting him but they really hate him so they just do and he dies cause who the hell would expect it 6-7 minutes into the fight.

The falcon I'm pointing jams Mobius and his falcon warps off. I regain point on my falcon who is then popped by gate guns. I get a phone call and dock up and that's the end of my story.

tl;dr gate guns hate everyone -- especially Orandos.
