That game was defined by an ewar alpha, whoever could lay suppressing damps on the hostile fleet could break their lock and make it difficult to regain it. The first order given, before the match even started, was to heat prop mods and burn away while our 8 damps were split between the 8 hostile ships. If the damps went on then their locks are broken and they can never return damps on us. One keres did that, the other keres did not. At this point it became impossible to break their lock by outrunning them with the keres, getting out of their lock range and then laying down your damps so they cannot regain it. Unfortunately a vigil and a keres did this whereas another keres did not. What can you do. Actually Kwark I only got damps off on one Merlin before the others damped me. When I am the only one damping all of their damp ships it is kind of tough to get them all off before I get damped.

As for people not being able to follow orders given before the match even starts, esp with a delay that big all i can say is "why are they even in the team".

The guy who got moved was going to be used initially but his connection was inconsistent so we used a backup. I am assuming they just moved the old fleet instead of the one with the backup in it. So we just put the first guy in fleet instead of the backup.

What are your impressions of the New Eden Open now that you can reflect on it without having to think about upcoming matches? Is it something you see with the ability to grow? Do you feel it was worthwhile endeavor for the time, effort and money funneled in by Own3d, CCP and even the players?
