Dear...god...
That char was apparently made in Oct 2011...to have 33bil would likely mean eBay/PLEX.
If one assumes 300mil goes for 15 bucks, that Vindi kill was worth 1650 bucks...dear god.
That is one expensive failfit.

You don't remember correctly. Not even close. The drakes were in damage range when we landed. This goes in line with every fact you state about the whole situation, you've been wrong this entire time. 50 km, 30 km, and burning off? the concept is the same, by getting distance he was getting cap + heat pressure on the rest of your gang. I said BOTH the webs being the only mids to burn out on the drake was shit luck. Nothing else. While heat damage is sort of random, that was something you needed to consider in your plan, if you're going to be chasing a guy that is going to burn away from you at a significant speed... I doubt they didnt know it wasnt really a good thing to go into for them, dual linked tengu in a plex is a total bitch, but I guess they still wanted to fight. that's fair enough, I find that people often underestimate just how powerful the "home field advantage" is, though. One of the more amusing BRs from my more baddie days: http://pervs.pingtimeout.net/?a=kill_related&kll_id=23782 This simply could not have happened at a belt or other celestial. It would seem incredibly risk-averse not to take that fight (as the minmatar FW) at first glance but once you understand the setup, you realize that the gilas/nomen were never in danger. But no one gives a fuck what you prefer. ok But please, keep being critical and condescending toward a fight in which you weren't even on grid. you're welcome I was on grid btw just couldn't really help because the battlefield was set up in which incoming help wouldn't be able to assist at all funny that ^^

BBQ was not the FC. Just because someone comes to an op does not give them the right to backseat fc. It is also very hypicritical of bbq to be argueing about the fight when he decided to join the op knowing full well that he, along with the rest of the fleet, was forced to fully commit to something that might end poorly. Ofcourse a dual linked tengu in a plex is extreamly powerful, but if you have good reason to think you might get the kill then fighting it is sometimes not a terrible decision.

No, the issue with this engagement is that it depended on the tengu pilot being a complete and utter retard. He was, but thats a bad way to plan fights. If the tengu pilot was brutis kahn (or say garmon, who runs around on a number of alts now so he gets fights without being blobbed), then everyone would have died.

I have stated my opinion on multiple occasions regarding certain pilots with regards to having the ability/judgment to fly tengus in combat situations. However, if certain pilots decide to disregard my advice, the best I can do is attempt to minimize the consequences of such behavior. ** It is my opinion that even disregarding the unfortunate situation, hitting approach in a 100MN tengu vs another is invariably a poor decision. With regards to the validity of this hypothesis, you can, in the gamelogs, compare the damages before and after the approach command was sent.

My only coment is this entire operation seems like a huge faff. And as stated before- if that tengu pilot had half a brain you all would have died in a horrible fire.

Well, as much as youre not completely wrong, assuming that the pilot will be a complete retard is actually a very feasible thing considering the very nature of Eve, I mean, how many times have we thrown a few ships to huge ass blobs knowing that they would be way too fucking stupid so we had a chance. Edit : Whether or not their initial though was stupid is rather moot, since in the end, they got what seemed to be a pretty nice fight and killed the guy, its not in true 100% efficiency Hatchery manner, but then again, the smartbomb phoon was not either ![]()

I'm pretty sure what BBQ is saying amounts to "pick your spots and against a dual linked 100mn tengu in a site your spot better include more than just two bcs". I agree with the assessment that against what it turned out that you were fighting it was a bad call. That said, the chances of him being not failfit and actually linked were pretty low. The chances of him being an idiot were pretty low and actually, it turned out that in this case he was an idiot. So whatever, if your game plan includes an acceptable range of "probably welp, hope they fuck up" then this is fine.

That said, the chances of him being not failfit and actually linked were pretty low. It was confirmed before the fight that he had dual links, as we had fought him on a prior occasion. This is evidenced, among other things, by the fact that the other Tengu outran ours despite having 2 less nanos. Well, as much as youre not completely wrong, assuming that the pilot will be a complete retard is actually a very feasible thing considering the very nature of Eve, Burning in a straight line hoping to catch an opponent that can easily exceed your speed doesn't allow you to leverage superior piloting skill, imo So like I've been saying, bbq is a waste of life and can we all ignore him now? ![]()
