I think the big thing is AI's contract is expiring next year so if this season doesn't work out, we start over again with Stuckey as the main guy. McDyess will be retired by then anyways. EDIT: Detroit radiostation rumor is that McDyess will get bought out and resign with the D!!!! If we get AI and keep McDyess, I am officially starting the Cult of Joe.

Denver gets a top-flight true PG who can capitalize on the great scorers they have on the team. Billups' 3pt shooting will help open things up as well. Detroit shakes things up with a roster that no one expected to win a ring by adding a true superstar who can put up points in bunches. If the gamble for this season doesn't work out, the Pistons allow AI to walk and have his contract come off the books. No concern with no longer having Billups and AI because Stuckey is there. Combined with Sheed's contract expiring, the Pistons will have a HUGE amount of cap space in 2010, when the list of free agents will be ridiculously stacked. From what I've read, they might have enough space to give TWO max offers, which could potentially get them a combo like Lebron and Bosh O_O

Assuming he stays the Nugget's AI and not the Sixer's AI, the Pistons have 2 slashing PGs which will probably help both Sheed and Rip. Defense weakens, but we all know Chauney was lazy on defense most of the time. It's happening! The tentative trade between the Detroit Pistons and the Denver Nuggets may have hit a snag. While the key players in the trade remain Pistons guard Chauncey Billups and top reserve Antonio McDyess for Denver's Allen Iverson, McDyess' reluctance to be included in the deal may become an issue. "Dice is not happy at all (about the possible trade)," said Andy Miller, who is the agent for both Billups and McDyess. Miller said the 34-year-old McDyess is considering several options, including retirement. Buuuuuuuuuuyouuuuuuuuuuuuutt

lol it really did just happen. yeah it seems like mcdyess will either retire or try to get waived in order to come back to detroit. i'm actually kind of surprised this move was done so early in the season... i mean it really does make sense since iverson is in his last year of his contract. wow the stuckey, maxiell, amir johnson era really is coming FAST. lol

I really can't see Detroit demoting Hamilton to the bench, nor can I see AI running the point...the guy is a scorer more than a distributor. But I guess they could be looking for a point that can score, similar to a Mo Williams type player. Either way I don't like the trade. I don't think it helps Detroit that much. Well, considering I'm rooting for Boston, maybe this is a good thing ^^
