For the nuggets, I still think this move is retarded. They move marcus camby to get under hte luxury tax, but then they take back 2 medium-largeish contracts instead of removing AI from the books? still a dumb deal

There's no other way. Iverson - Rip - Prince - Amir - Sheed with Stuckey, Afflalo, Herrmann, Maxi, and hopefully Dyess coming off the bench. (Kwame who?)

That seems vastly undersized to me. They really need Mcdyess back if that's the case. Looking at their rotations, I'm thinking they're gonna make AI their point and either get Mcdyess back or find another backup center. I guess that could work, but I'd much prefer Billups at the point than AI, since Billups was always a big PG that could post up and distribute. Detroit has enough jump shooters as is. edit: TOTALLY FORGOT ABOUT KWAME. haha, are they actually gonna play him? Detroit's throwin the dice..

Rip plays SG but he's a big guy, he's probably just as strong as Tayshaun and I think he's a better ON BALL defender. Tayshaun is a point forward more than anything else, and he can keep the young guys settled a bit. Curry is going to mix and match depending on who they play like they're already doing. PISTONS = PATRIOTS

My guess is that AI and Rip form a small backcourt that will struggle against bigger guards, and Stuckey comes off the bench to back up both. Stuckey's ability to play as a PG or SG makes him a nice backup to come off the bench, so I definitely think that's the best option for the Pistons. The most likely lineup is AI, Rip, Prince, Amir and Sheed IMO.

Hes an amazing player, but defensively his size is just a huge burden. It worked out in Philly when they had a great defensive team because he could just play the passing lanes and get steals every now and then. As soon as Philly started to lose their defensive prowess they started to tank.

Like, that's not even a question mark. There's no other way. I... I just can't wrap my head around it yet, because it can change everything on the offense... like, can AI find Rip coming off curls? Can he play the pick and pop with Sheed? Does he know how to set up Prince on the wing, or on the block? It's just so... wierd. Having Stuckey as insurance off the bench sure does help though.

What can AI do that Chauncey couldn't? Distribute? No Post-up? No Drive to the basket? Both are good, Chauncey with more size but AI with more speed Shoot? I'm leaning towards a Yes, although Chauncey wasn't that bad Play Defense? No Show more motivation? I guess we'll see, but judging by AI's track record, even this doesn't look much better Maybe I'm missing something, but this doesn't feel like much of an improvement

Hes one of my favorite players ever, and his heart is unparalleled but hes limited by his size. Hes the best small man ever though. If he was bigger, hed probably go down as one of the best players ever too.

I said if you noticed his success it was when the sixers were full of defenders. Gambling on passing lanes isnt really defense, but its the best he can do and it works best when you have other defenders around him who can force a tough pass.

Listen, I love Iverson, but take a minute to THINK. He's not good at team defense. If you think he's anything close to the defender that Chauncey is you're insane. Iverson gets steals by gambling in passing lanes, but sometimes that backfires and opens up mistakes that have to be erased by Camby (and hopefully Sheed and Amir) He's quick, which is good, but he lacks the height and size that Chauncey had and can be overmatched by bigger guards... just in the east I can think of Mo Williams (taller, stronger), Jamal Crawford (taller), Gilbert (oh lord), Bibby (stronger), Rose (taller, stronger)... and that's not even counting Western All-Stars like Deron (bigger), Paul (faster!?!?) and Baron (bigger) And if you try to swtich Rip to pick up the PG on defense, that's just suicide by shooting guard. As for passing... Iverson was never, ever, EVER a point guard in his career. In Philly he had Eric Snow. In Denver he had Anthony Carter and Steve Blake. Iverson is a GREAT passer, but he gets his passes through drives that cause chaos in the defense, sort of like what Paul or Nash do... except Paul can also run a half-court set. (I think Nash can too) Now he'll be expected to actually run the offense... like I said, find Rip off curls, play pick-and-pop with Sheed, set up Tay on the wing or the block, etc... Can he do it? I THINK he can do it, but I don't know. He's never had to do that in his life. What does Iverson do that only he can do? Heart. Drive. Shoot. Find open shots for teammates after destructing defenses. Attitude. Heart. Steals. Heart. Can he make the Pistons as good as they were with Chuancey? You have to remember that Chauncey was running the Pistons for SIX YEARS. That kind of teamwork and chemistry will also be hardt o replace. I think Iverson can do it, and I hope he can do it. For both the Pistons and for him, two of my loves.

How can I make my teammates better? In his early days he has been the one man show. He's improved marginally when it comes down to distributing the ball.
