I don't usually like flash games, but my buddy posted this url (Link is at the bottom of my post) on my vent server today. And me, dying of boredom, ended up playing it and realizing it was pretty epic.
Basically, you control a plague of sorts, and your goal is to kill off the entire population of the earth; sounds easy, but it gets more complicated. You choose between a Virus, a Bacteria, or a Parasite (Each with different ups and downs), and you are given a starting location on the world map. From this point on, you have to evolve yourself by using evolution points to choose your symptoms, resistances, and transmissions. Depending on what starting location you're given, you have to choose how you evolve wisely. When you play you'll see what I mean.
You lose if the human race cures your virus, or if your infection just simply cannot spread any further.
I haven't been able to kill off the entire population yet, came pretty close a couple of times though.

Hmmm I can't seem to figure it out. My strategy is to keep as low a profile as possible while increasing resistance and transmission, then when it's spread make it higher profile and lethal. But there's always like 5 countries that never get infected no matter what. Like south africa this game, LOL. Then I run out of points because killing infected people gives none apparently.

This game is frustrating. Twice now, I've accidentally clicked on the google ad links on the bottom instead of my tool bar, and I've lost all my progress.

TBH I'm finding parasite to probably be one of the easiest with it's visibility bonus. Before Australia, NZ, Indonesia, AND Madagascar would all close their borders before I could infect them. Now I'm able to stay low key enough to infect all of them before they take notice (except Madagascar )

THis game sucks in that visibility is kinda broken. For example, I sold off the only symptom i had for my disease in the beginning of the game. So basically i had a disease with absolutely no symptoms and zero visibility. I then put it on fastest and waited. Nothing happened for a while, but once the disease reaches other countries, the shit hit the fan. Governments started handing out water, closing airports, killing rodents and insects, burning bodies etc...FOR A DISEASE WITH NO SYMPTOMS. Zero visibility my ass. Thats my only gripe with the game.

Haha, that's hilarious. Personally I've just been doing virus and putting on fastest until I have lots of evolution points to spend. I've gotten everywhere except Greenland and Madagascar. Ugh.

I did it on relaxing mode on full speed so I could alt tab and come back and spend disease points... Im kind of a slacker. But I got all the countries except australia infected. Now Im getting like no disease points. Oh well. Just gotta kill as many people as I can before the vaccine is finished and dispersed.

Floods temporarily boost exposure to your disease if your disease is able to spread via water.

I know. I tried the same thing, but even though I had no symptoms, it didn't help at all . This makes me think the game is 100% luck based, which isn't that much fun.

I think part of the problem is that it seems that visibility is also somehow tied to how many people are infected. I almost managed to infect every region but they shut down everything right as they were about to get infected. Then you can't transmit it through any means. >_<
Also, it seems to take some time for the lesser symptoms to add up to the point where people are dying (as in time after you've purchased them all). Then the thing becomes this massive plague that smites everyone in short order.

As everyone's probably already realized, the visibility meter is bs. I've realized that the symptoms don't do jack shit in terms of your visibility (well...they affect it slightly) but what really screws up your visibility is the amount of traits you buy. So even if you have no symptoms, if you have all resistances and transmissions, you're going to get spotted very easily.
So basically you want to start off with the absolute least amount of traits, then buy everything you can once you've infected everyone possible.
So far I've managed to kill everyone (except fucking Madagascar >.< ) with this strategy. I used parasite.
First off all you're going to need is Moisture I and II, Waterborne, and one other transmission trait (doesn't matter, either one is fine). Sell everything else you can. Once you've infected everyone possible tech up to whatever lethal symptom you can get. Usually I get Kidney Failure and Pulmonary Edema. Make sure to save enough to tech through the drug resistances once the vaccine gets started. If you get Drug Resistance IV, there's a pretty good chance that the disease will become immune to the vaccine and all future vaccines.

ive played this game 3 times now, with 0 visibility, 0 symptoms, only upgraded my region's resists, only water transmission, and i STILL can't infect madagascar lol. Eventually, I spread to all countries and madagascar closes their ports . I'm fairly convinced that it's impossible to infect madagascar unless you start there or somehow get really really lucky.
once you infect every country, finishing the game is really easy before the vaccine even gets researched. just get all the transmission methods and max all resists, then get all the level 1 symptoms, and you'll win.

I finally beat the damn thing. I started in Australia, and I kept a low profile while getting more unnoticeable symptoms and not bothering with the transmission part. Eventually, when Australia had quite a few infected, I got the insect transmission. Despite the fact that I hadn't bothered upgrading many of the resistances yet, it managed to spread to every country except greenland. (It was virus, by the way.) I then upgraded the cold resistance and greenland was infected as well. Once the virus was in every country in the world (even madagascar, for some reason I didn't have a problem with it), I finally got heart failure, which was the first lethal symptom. The shit promptly hit the fan. I then began increasing the transmission/infection. Greenland was the last hospital, and it got taken down when the vaccine was literally about 99% completed. It still took a while for everyone to die though.

I played this game for like 3 hours yesterday and came to the conclusion nothing you do has any real impact on the game, and the only difference between the two modes is that the easier one goes faster. Basically all your choices do practically the same of one of three things, and the only way you can really win is if you luck out and a boat goes to madagascar, which they rarely do unless all other ports are closed. And even if you do nail there, greenland, japan, and cuba are all tied for second most difficult to take down. I've never played a game where I managed to get all four of those places at once.
It's a nice idea botched by some terrible game design and no real way to mitigate luck factors.

By the way, when you find the vaccine is getting concocted soon start killing people, and watch the hospitals get nuked...except the aliens in Greenland keeping it up (along with the airport and seaport).

i managed to kill 0 people despite infecting everybody except for the russians. Then the hospitals were still running in Japan and Australia so while I was trying to increase lethality Japan and Australia healed all their doods

Started on madagascar with parasite and wiped out the world. Took me extremely long to get of the island but I used the no traits except airborne and water thing. When it started spreading I upgraded resistances.

Yeah the scoring system seems to care more about speed then how thorough you are. My first game I only killed about half of the countries but did it pretty quickly and got like 126,000. The second time killed everyone except Madagascar and Canada but took a long time and I only got 122,000. I would like to know if actually killing the entire world gives you a point boost, since otherwise the stated objectives don't coincide with the point system at all.

if it does give you a point boost, it's not very much. I killed the entire world with bacterium and only got 68k I think. But it also took a long time since while I did infect everyone, it wasn't lethal at all and I had to wait until I slowwwwwly gained evo points to boost lethality.

i won by choosing the bacteria, selling my symptoms right away, then using my points to up each resistance a bit, then i put the game on fast forward and watched TV. like 20 minutes later the virus finally started spreading, and since it took so long, my virus developed the "stealthy" trait which made it so the whole world didn't go apeshit when all the sudden a virus with ZERO VISIBILITY AND NO SYMPTOMS started to spread. However, by taking so long to do anything it also developed the "harmless" trait, which made it harder to kill people. Anyway, as soon as I saw a boat finally land on Madagascar, meaning that the whole world was now infected, I went crazy and dumped all my points instantly (like 80+) on crap that makes your disease spread like wildfire, you want hemorrhaging, cysts, boils, and sores. These all add to your lethality rating and at the same time make your disease alot more infectious. I also grabbed the water contaminant. Like 2 seconds after madagascar was infected all the countries starting flipping out and shutting down, however, 2 seconds after that all my infectious symptoms were bought and everyone in every country was infected ridiculously fast. By the way, if they are all infected, you essentially win because all the vaccine does is prevent people from being infected, it doesn't heal them or prevent them from dying. Then i just grabbed kidney failure and then turned to watch my tv. 10 minutes later the whole world was dead. An amazing score of 78k lol.

A good strategy I go with is with Bacteria/Virus.
Get Sneezing/Coughing, evolve airborne, get max heat, then 1 drug and cold resistance. Once a few more people get infected get waterborne and insect. Evolve all resistances to IV. Then once the whole world gets infected, ramp up the Tier IV Fatal Symptoms!!!

Get Sneezing/Coughing, evolve airborne, get max heat, then 1 drug and cold resistance. Once a few more people get infected get waterborne and insect. Evolve all resistances to IV. Then once the whole world gets infected, ramp up the Tier IV Fatal Symptoms!!!

madagascar is the bane of this game 
other small island countries at least have more than a damn shipyard that closes the instant the disease leaves the original country. worst country=madagascar, best starting=madagascar ;x although it takes forever for the disease to get off that damned place.

I killed everyone except a little under 1 million people with bacteria, ended up with a score of about 88k. If they hadn't found a cure I'd have gotten them all. T_T
I almost missed out on Madagascar. I started off on an island and was watching as one after another all the other islands got infected, until there was only Madagascar left. Then, before it was infected they shut down their shipping port. I cursed at the screen and then bought up all my symptoms now that I was done trying to be invisible, going back to the screen to watch every other country die off. Then, a wonderful sight...A little blue spot floated up past South Africa, landing in the closed port of Madagascar, and I received notice that Madagascar was mine. 
I literally did a fist pump.
So, don't quit immediately if Madagascar closes down on you - miracle boats of doom do happen. :p

Haha, yeah I had that too, except without them closing docks. Except in every other game I played, they closed docks right after, so I guessed I just paused at the right moment.

Well, don't be too downtrodden, as I believe I just got fantastically lucky, not that I found a way to always get Madagascar. :p I've played three times now and the other two times Madagascar shut down and never got infected for me. I think I just lucked out in that a ship was already en route to Madagascar when they shut down their port.

Beat it my first try, I should have been more focused on getting symptoms that kill.

YEAH!!! FINALLY!!
So here's what I did:
1. Realistic - Parasite
2. Sell any symptom
3. Upgraded Cold/Warm/Moist Resistance to lvl 2 (no Transmissions yet)
4. Upgraded Drug Resistance to lvl 4 (still no Transmissions)
5. Waited until I raised enough points to get all Transmissions at once (about 30 i think). If they start looking for a Vaccine before this, then get Waterborne and Airborne asap
6. Waited for it to spread everywhere (no symptoms just yet, countries weren't closing borders)
7. Countries started closing stuff, Madagascar only place not infected. Madagascar closed borders.
8. Cursed for about 30 seconds before I realized there were still ships mid-ocean. One of them went to Madagascar (SUCCESS!!)
9. Got all the good lvl 1 symptoms (Fever+Sores+Fatigue = win)
10. Waited, used extra points to get deadlier symptoms, but you'd win anyway because all but Greenland's hospital would be offline.

you dont have to infect the whole world to get a high score, the speed you kill off people seems to matter more
my best was 290k in around 40+ days as a virus with 2 countries left uninfected

150kk is a shitti score...
i make about 170kk every time, without killing everybod. I kill everyone infected round day 40~60
things i usually do: infest water supply very fast without so many resistances then go for a high symphtome, edemas are great, but cough is the best for spreading.
I keep spending points in the expensive contagious and deadly sympthomes i found, then air and rodent, then resistances.
You will get a world infested withouth madagascar around day 14 or before.
tips for fast killing
things like fatigue, hyersensivity, sneezing are great toghether with one or two hard deadly sympthome, i like to use hemorragie, but bad kidney should work also
Sweating is greath if you are using diarrhea

finally killed all humans, i upgraded all transmit ability, increase virus immunity when i can, gave it no symptoms until the world is totally infected, then i get heart failure and everyone started dropping like flies,
