His blink might be misplaced, which is obvious since its the start of the combo, if he's got delay, blinking then non-shift calling gives his opponents time to stun or walk away. Mashing e and d doesn't solve your problem if your commands are being registered a second late. No one's going to telegraph a blink call from 2-3 seconds away, its always a reaction to a clump of opponents during pushes. During ganks, your opponent only has 1 way to run, so delay is normally irrelevant.

dont' use it 100% of time, but during telegraphed combos, like tiny avatoss with delay, it can be a lifesaver.

can't screw up tiny's avatoss anymore unless you deliberately do so, the triggers changed when icefrog recoded toss.
