City is cool, and any 'noob' comments toward him (or in general) are in jest, if you haven't noticed. He's just my cute scapegoat when shit goes wrong and he has a shitty pick. And outperforming? That usually happens if I'm running around the whole game trying to organize ganks while everyone else farms. And I'm not going to farm all game to try to win -- my hero picks don't suit that style that well. I think working and moving together as a team is a hell of a lot more fun than farming all game by yourself, and I try to make the team work toward that way, but people just don't fucking listen. | ||

I remember a week or so ago when I played Rhasta for the first time, and was completely flipping out during the game, hitting the wrong hotkey (wrong hotkey = wrong skill), making really bad moves because I wasn't able to just "play" rather than think through everything, I think I ended up like 0-15, even had this wonderful 0.1 second Entangle on Testie that caused Heen to go OMFGWTFBBQ, just completely overwhelmed by it, and Zelniq being frustrated didn't help. But I went to Zelniq after the game and apologized, and he didn't seem to mind, and that really, really helped me feel a bit better about it (still shoddy game but eh). I mean, I probably single-handedly wrecked that game in every way imaginable, and I knew it, but being able to sit in a corner and be sad without having four people scream at me about something I already know and feel bad about was, uhhh, comforting, for lack of a better word at the moment. | ||

There are more reasons for why DotA newbs take more heat such as bad teammates being harmful to you but I won't go there. That said, of course we should tolerate newbs in DotA. It takes time to get familiar with all the heroes, items, and skills. For me, DotA was easy to learn because I had a warcraft background. The movement, concept of stun/disable, last hitting (creep jacking) were familiar. That's another thing we, including myself, need to understand: not everyone has played warcraft extensively enough to learn as fast as those that did. I don't think I've ever bitched about 'idiotic' pathing in DotA, ever. A lot of people who haven't played much warcraft seem to find this to be a problem for example. However, there are plenty of times when players do something dumb not because they are new, but because they didn't put enough thought into it. Then, his teammates bitch about his stupidity rather than bad hand-eye coordination. Obviously it doesn't help to bitch but you can kind of see why it's different from bitching in other games. It's more like someone bitching at his teammate terran not scanning for him to clear lurkers in his mineral line than someone bitching that his macro isn't strong enough. Those of you who have gamed with me on GGC have probably seen me bitch to pubs (mostly) as well (though not as often as ryugie lol). In my defense that's because: 1. I assume they aren't 'new,' so they deserve it. 2. They are strangers who are often immature, dumb, and generally not respectable. I'm pretty mannered to people I know, I think. Oh, except for my roommate BottleAbuser/bdares. Of all the times I've said the word 'faggot,' more than half were directed at him  I kick people I find suspicious if they can't answer questinos like 'how much does dagger cost?' because I'd rather play a game that is at a higher level simply because it's more fun. But for TL DotA, you have to understand that people from different prior experiences are meeting up to play so the differences in skill are going to be big. There's no reason not to try to play at the highest level possible but you need more patience. I confess that I even asked zulu to give me control when he was playing faceless so I could use his ult at the right time. That was kind of mean I guess  But that is the nature of DotA. | ||

It's been a few years since I laddered so I'm not up to date strategy wise. Didn't you see me sucking in FFA last summer? I got my 25 win icon on my new account so I'm not going to ladder more. It's not that fun for me  I like how 1v1 used to be the easiest way to get wins and now it's random team. Well, I guess arranged team is better but I never liked that. | ||

If i join a game on B.net i start and then someone yells a bunch of words and soon after that i'm kicked (i think) and right now i'm just playing on some AI map with 1-2 friends, and we and up getting slaughtered ;_; | ||

Just to open up ideas for you, I go mass bracers to necronomicon on VS. She's a horrible farmer and a support hero so that's all you need really. stun and stats until lvl 12ish, get aura, and I find terror (?) pretty useless. | ||
