I've only played like maybe 5 games most, so my opinion isn't yet grounded on conclusive evidence. But people seem to be more manner in general. When people pause for whatever reason, usually the other team just waits it out instead of unpausing right away (like in hon). And people dont seem to rage and flame as much. but then again, maybe ijust havent experienced it......... yet. HAHA | ||

In general, pub games are far worse in Dota2 because there are less people who are willing to play support. My explanation is twofold. First, there is no visible MMR so people don't see any persistent effect from winning and losing. This means people are more likely to throw games or just pick a terrible team composition because they don't care if they lose. Second, there are a lot of Dota players who probably never had a good indication of their skill and assume they're far better than their "pub" teammates. This makes everyone insist on a solo lane and/or a carry, which is usually a detriment due to their disillusioned skill in addition to the team composition. In HoN, I solo queued to 1900 (1700? or whatever it is now. Didn't play after MMR change). Through all the MMR getting up to that, pubs had way better teamwork than in Dota2. At a low 1650 MMR, and my team was around 1550, they would at least discuss picks and defer judgment to the higher MMR player. People would play support because they genuinely wanted to improve as well as win to increase their MMR. In addition, they would at least think about lanes during the picks. In conclusion, there is an even bigger ego-to-skill disparity than in HoN. This actually creates way less mannered games because everyone ends up being a huge dick. I expect this will change once the game is released but that's my current impression after 400+ games. | ||
