I have heard of a few of them saying they prefer HoN at the moment; and unless there are NA tournaments separate to Internationals, i doubt there will be much money in it? I think.. lol

other than a better engine than dota1 there isnt much reason to play it atm, the game is still very much incomplete and there is no leaver penalty. a lot of us have keys but we still prefer to play dota1

maybe you should try playing a hero with lane presence at your rating, 4v5 can be nasty at low levels

I doubt that the only Dota 2 tournaments will be the internationals.. MLG showing interest already, I'm sure others will look into it as well. Dota held up for a long time and it didn't have Valve behind it. Not only will everyone's eyes be on this game after release, there are lots of people wanting it to go somewhere. I doubt there will be a low amount of tournaments for this game at all.. I expect it will probably take over the e-sports world like nothing we've seen, since there is such a huge audience behind this game.

As for the Hon players not liking it, I don't got a clue why that would be, but I doubt it's cause there are no tournaments for it. How can they possibly know when game hasn't even hit an open beta where the first community tournaments can even be possible.

All of the current money is in Hon with the TwitchTV tournament, Dreamhack Winter and ESL all coming up. Pros follow the money, same reason why SC2 has a pro scene.

I've just started playing HoN in preparation for Dota2 so I'm not really terrible when it comes out and I'm finiding myself somewhat lost. All the items, which points to put where and in general how to play HoN.

What I'm looking for is a retards guide to HoN, anyone got any suggestions where to go?

Prodex, reddit, Hon streams on TwitchTV. The whole Dota genre is really complicated and takes ages to learn you will be terrible for a while.

if you're serious about preparing for dota2 then you should be playing dota1 when you have no experience at all. The game is just around the corner, so if you're learning all the hon heroes/items and playstyle then have to re-do a big portion of that in half a year or less...

I am off TL for a couple weeks and Dota2 beta keys get thrown around willy-nilly? That's unfortunate. I wouldn't be using it right now anyway since I'm out of the country but it would have been nice for later. Hell, even if I was at home, I'd probably keep playing HoN until Dota2 gets more polished.

P.S. Catching up on a few pages in this thread is taxing. I particularly dislike reading balance posts. >_<

I disagree, the new heros will be something new and the items will be easier because they make more sense in my opinion.
