What are we gonna do without good Mr. Travis Sutherland? This is by far the most depressing and tragic news I've heard all week.
Travis was a good friend, a great son, and a fantastic Dota/HoN player.
In his honor I officially quit HoN. Goodbye and so long. Btw, according to passersby Travis's car was totally launched and destroyed like a ragdoll. Based on the physics of kinetic energy, it seems very likely that the police officer was driving way faster than the 45 mph marked for that intersection.
Having been almost killed twice last semester by police cruisers (once as a pedestrian where the cruiser didn't look right while I was crossing a protected crosswalk and another time at midnight when I was on a shuttle back to my dorm, a speeding police officer ran straight through the red light. Luckily our driver stopped just a few feet short, at which point the officer turned on his signal and sped off), I am not at all sympathetic to the driver of the police cruiser.
Travis being the great angel that he was probably wouldn't have wanted his HoN friends to be angry at the police, but I am angry at the police. That shit is whack.
I thought it was in good spirit of him and the game/community he was known best in. I removed it anyways, doesn't really matter. Still hate losing a TL member. Big apologies.
Torte said something dumb, but it's probably inexperience with this matter that makes it so and trying to deal with it in a stupid way or lighten it up. Everyone takes death differently.
Torte, what you said was hurtful to the people who cared about Trav, even if you don't know it. I shed some man tears for him tonight and I didn't like that message. Edit that please.
Wish I had treated the guy better and am reflecting a lot. Trav was a great guy, and deserves more respect than that.
Is there some memorial fund we can chip a few dollars here and there into? I'm sure we were all a relatively small part of his real life, but the games we played with him, the tempest highlight reels we've watched of him, and the hilarious commentaries of his we listened to on TS surely left some mark on us. Even if it's not much monetarily, any contribution by the community will at least offer consolation to his family, and let them know that even in the wild and crazy world of the internets, that he was loved.
Does anybody here know how to contact his family to set something like this up?

i mean, people don't really seem to care except me and i didn't even know the guy at all, but it's still fucking disgusting
Relax, geez. It's been rectified and apologized and everyone cares. Everyone is offering their condolences and are extremely saddened by this event. It's not joking about his death, but adding light to a tragic event.

Go for it imo. I don't see anything wrong with that.
I'm about to go to bed after 9 hours of writing. I don't know him as well as everyone else, I am hurt by the loss, but it wouldn't be fair for me to make the topic given my limited stance.

Torte made a mistake, Testie adressed very appropriately unlike you. I think everyone would appreciate if you stopped politicizing an already sad event.
