Not a single word in my post said "you are bad". I just said that the people you play against aren't strong players, which is why you can apparently do so well against them. Once you start playing in games equal to your skill level, you will know how good of a player you are. I don't mind helping people out, but i currently work a lot and am playing Hell Unleashed.

As far as playing SF/Soul Stealer, there are a few different schools of thought. It also highly depends on each game what items you go and depends what opposing hero you are against. You went the more common western build of Blink Dagger / Shroud, but both is kind of overkill. I usually just see bkb/shrunken on him in more asian style, but it depends.
A lot of times (depending on heroes), bkb/shrunken head is preferred over blink/shroud. It honestly is so dependent on a huge number of things that even if you asked testie how to play SF/SS his item build (would hopefully) change based on what his team needed and enemy heroes.
That's why it's kind of weird to give advice on heroes or "item builds", it's really only good to rely on such things when just starting out. Basically the best advice is use the courier, use the hotkeys on the courier and shop (so you don't miss lasthits), and really practice the timing on lasthits for any hero you want to play. Past that you should adjust your item build on the fly and needs of the game, never follow a cookie cutter setup unless you have no idea or you understand why it makes sense in that game.
I could give more advice, but personally if I ever really want to see how to play a hero in a specific instance I usually watch Ehome/LGD replays, and you'll want to see more than one of that hero to see how they change items/gameplay on it. For instance wildsoul/sylla performs a way different role (the role it's supposed to) in LGD's or other dota team's lineups than it did in EG's because they really understand the hero and lineups it works in. Although you will have to slightly adjust for hon, it's really not that great of a change (yet) and overall will probably be better strategy.
Also pub strategy is way different than match strategy
Giving specific advice for dota/hon is just hard to do. Just use your head and think out shit and just trial and error + watch better player replays and actually analyze their choices. It's pretty much the same for getting better at any game.

man i just played an epic game but lost =( was bombadier with the spellshards scepter and refresher
other team got mega creeps but game still lasted 20 more minutes our temp fucked it up T_T
can someone explain his boom dust for me? i know basically what it does, but the thing that confuses me is that i see some people level that first, is it relaly worth it? they say its for last hitting but at level 1 it only does 40 damage and your base dmg is higher @ level 1 so doesnt make too much sense to me. if you put all 4 of them on one creep does it do 160 damage? i dont understand the stacking part

It does the extra damage one time/one boom dust. 4 boomdusts on one target means you have to hit him 4 times. If you were ganking with 3 teammates, and put 4 boomdusts on your target, and then you and each of your 3 teammates threw one auto attack, if would set off all 4 boomdusts.
People get it early because it is ridiculously strong for harassing. Throw a boomdust on someone, throw a super easy attack animation cancel auto attack with no backswing, and you've just hit someone for 1/5th their hp pool at even level 1. Bomb is a very very strong laner against melee for this reason - boomdust a creep they're last hitting or just boomdust them and hit them, over and over, for 30 mana or whatever it costs. He's a really strong babysitter for this reason but I don't like using him that way; I think farm on bomb is more useful .
|
boom dust is a buff you can place on an allied or enemy unit that explodes in aoe damage to enemies when the unit is attacked (and is removed with the explosion). you can "stack" the buff up to four times, meaning the next four attacks will trigger the explosion and only then cause the buff to wear off.
so a skilled bombardier can just add the boom dust damage to any spell or attack he casts by boom dusting the enemy before dealing damage with skills or attacks. the cast animation is also extremely short, so you can attack an enemy and buff him while the projectile is in the air - essentially, your attack damage is just increased by the boom dust damage. this works for lasthits aswell.
there are more applications for the skill, but this should answer your questions.

I don't really care if you all want to play with me or not because I've managed to get pretty good in all the other games I've played and I'm pub stomping a new game in 5 days, so my play must be ignored and dismissed?
