Most people seem pretty well mannered and fun from when ive played, although i've hardly played any. Definately alot more enojyable playing then playing in pubs (although i guess thats not too hard to beat )

does anyone play the SC2 version? ITs kinda lame but i think blizzard is coming out with an official dota for sc2 or at least theys aid that at blizzcon anyone know any more info on that?

disappointing because it'll be just a clone of the original dota in a new client, which doesn't solve any of it's problems (that are fixed with the leavers system, etc with HoN and LoL(who fails in other areas) which have their own client.

Tried an inhouse once, but when the game was full you insisted on everyone in the game being in the TL channel or you'd kick them, so it took forfuckingever to start. I don't know if it's the same game jpopidol referred to.

I was also under the impression that TL inhouses were supposed to be friendly affairs with a relaxed atmosphere(as opposed to pubs) but your attitude certainly didn't/doesn't help in that regard.

merry christmas fellas. i'ma go try this hon 2.0 thing!

the reason i ask everyone to be in the channel is to have some kind of control over who joins - the games are nostats, anyone can leave, and one leaver ruins the fun for all the players. without this rule, it would both be very hard to filter out public players who join and greatly increase the risk of a friend following one of the "actual" players without actually not being prone to leave. its either a really high remake ratio, this rule or strictly private invite games - guess which requires the least effort. also, do you really think asking people who want to play to be present in the channel is too much to ask?

if you "just" want to play hon and ignore proper gameplay (itembuilds, laning, roles etc) completely with a friendly atmosphere as you call it - LN ihs are exactly that, they exist, and they happen frequently. there would be no point in hosting any additional ihs if that is what everybody wanted.
the goal i had in mind is friendly games aswell, and relaxed aswell, but without scrubs. thats all, and LN does not provide this third aspect which is required to play hon "properly" in my eyes and the eyes of, as far as i know, quite a few other decent players.

i would also like to have a more elaborate description of "my attitude" - feel free to pm me if you think it might be inflammatory, i wont mind. just make it sincere so we can talk about it properly.

would love to hear a response to this, because as of now these two posts are the only feedback i recieved, and yours is the only one that actually conveys relevant information.

All of which defeats the purpose of a friendly IH, if you want to do what you are describing, then go make a IH LEAGUE.

Not that its a huge deal, but in the first post of this thread, it tells you what channels to join to find people to IH. If people used TS more often, you would find that one of the channels says to /join clan teamliquid. If you can't spend the little energy required to do a /join clan teamliquid, then why should we like you play in TL inhouses? You might say were being strict, but clan teamliquid is a public channel that anyone can join, so if you find it too hard to join, then i don't think you should play with us, and rather go play pubs with others.

edit: to judicator, we do it so we can make sure its not just random pub players who leave because they have to lane against higher skilled players and give up and quit 3 minutes in. If they want to IH with us, showing a little effort of joining the TL channel is all we ask. It's not much to ask, yet some people still complain about it.

@judicator:

that doesnt make sense - are you saying the only difference between friendly ihs and pubs are that people are nice? why do you call it an inhouse?
i never stated that i expect everyone to do everything in their power to win and to play flawless, but they shouldnt be utterly clueless and ignorant of their team - and that did occur, and its not fun for anyone who cares about game quality at all.
am i missing something?

edit: clarified who i am responding to

Then make it league. I am not saying what you are doing is wrong or whatever, I am saying it's kind of dumb to make it limited access when it's suppose to be friendly IHs. Like making the person to join the channel isn't exactly going to keep someone from leaving, might as well set a hard rating cap for those who don't join the channel if they're randoms.

There isn't enough people to sustain a league non stop. Its just TL inhouses with friends. We include people in them from the channel, its not that hard. We aren't asking an interview and how good are you out of every person, but if you want to play in TL ih, put a little effort of just joining the channel.

Yeah, but why not just set an arbitrary ratings requirements when you can't games going? Otherwise like you said, there isn't enough people sustain consistent games so if people want to play, just do that.

For me it doesn't matter if he casts during the GSL or not. I've lost all interest in GSL some time ago.

We have always played with anyone from teamliquid.net who doesn't leave games. Many people of low skill levels have played dozen if not hundreds of inhouses in DOTA and HON and it is never an issue.

In fact its most frustrating when people don't play and just wish to obs. Everyone is welcome, all skill levels. Just sit when the game is hosted!

whoah... what's legends?? Is it an actual team, or a one-off allstars thing? I'm looking at their roster and I see Merlini! Is he returning to DotA?

one time thing, mania merlini maelk looks like old school team , loda and kuroky were on mym at one point or another too

LEGENDS might have a chance if DTS doesn't play seriously since its a showmatch, but I haven't seen smile's impact on the team yet.
