i'm 100% happy with my purchases of D1 and D2. D1 cost me $12 in April/May. D2+ Annual Pass cost me $70 in September. Its not even black friday yet and you can get everything I bought for $53. In 2017, D2 was $60 in September and $26 on Black Friday. I paid $12 for it a few months later.

Bungie//ATVI is painting the Destiny franchise into a corner with very aggressive and very fast discounting in 2017 and 2018. The very fast, very steep discounts means more and more people will just wait for the sales in 2019.

yep the honeymoon is over.

the game is a lot of fun. it was the #1 seller in September 2018. not every game can be GTA5 or Fortnite. I think Bungie has done a nice job with Destiny2. Had ATVI put the marketing muscle and money behind Destiny2 that they did for Destiny1 I could understand them wanting GTA5 type #s. However, they really cut back on marketing for Destiny2.

I find it interesting that Blizzard is hemorrhaging users and they dress it up like nothing is going wrong during the investor call. Activision on the other hand has a slowing growing user base with Destiny2:Forsaken being a contributing factor. If you listen to the entire call.. they kept going on and on and on about how Destiny was underperforming.. they mention it like ... 5 times. Every Exec except the Blizzard guy mentions it.

Bungie is getting a raw deal from ATVI... no wonder Mike Morhaime quit. And its obvious he quit abruptly based on how ill prepared J. Allan Brack was to handle investor questions. If Mike's exit were planned well in advance Brack would've been on top of things. He was not.

After a decade of stupid high growth ATVI revenue has finally stopped growing and so its top execs are now in finger pointing and blame mode. ATVI couldn't shit all over Blizzard during this investor call because Morhaime had just left. If they crap on Blizzard it makes it appear Morhaime left under some form of duress. So they went after Bungie. Whatever guys.

The game is not underperforming, it's just Activision had an absurdly high expectation, and they are desperate with new revenue sources with Blizzard's recent decline and themselves lacking new strong franchises in the past several years.

The problem is a huge, if not all, portion of the player base has one and they are devastating. Now maybe the guns are balanced to stronger enemies rather than the ones in the current game. Who knows.

Yeah but heavy drops are a joke, you are not going to be running this thing through a non-heavyweight strike and using it constantly.

You are also not going to be running this thing in Gambit, because the heavy-invading metagame dictates that you need range on your heavy to have a chance against your Queenbreaker opponents.

This weapon is good in the raid because you can guarantee full ammo at the start of every encounter, and the raid does generally have a lot of sections where clearing out adds quickly is important.

That said, it's still worse for killing Riven than clusters, competes with several guns for Kalli kills, and probably won't out-perform Ikelos shotgun for Morgeth. It's probably the best available exotic for use in Shuro, where the unique perk and number of adds means that you can clear quickly and are likely to get more ammo, and is a suitable backup to Ikelos for DPSing the boss. It's also likely one of the better heavy weapons in Vault but that encounter is a cakewalk anyway.
