I have always had the potential to like MH, but bounced off the bullshit(collecting wetstones) and ever increasing difficulty to the early parts of the game. I don't have a problem with the drop in difficulty either, since the challenge is there in the later game and tempered monsters. If you look long term, lowing the difficulty now allowed it to be one of the biggest selling games for Capcom in their history. They ate up all the Destiny's audience and dragged in everyone who liked dark souls too. I would not be shocked if start dumping in super hard endgame monsters for the next year. And then they will dump resources into MHW 2. Don't quote me on this, but I read somewhere that the series in Japan is considered more casual because people play it more for multiplayer. It is considered more hardcore in the west because more people play it solo. Personally, I only gave the series a try once in the 3DS era and gave up on it fast. I wasn't interested in the online aspects. It felt like WoW hardcore raiding which isn't fun when done solo. And the community sounded like the worst of WoW's gearscore PUGs so I didn't want to bother with that either. | ||

I was looking at some online communities in places like GFaqs. They were very elitist and not helpful to new players. | ||

I'll gladly let them keep on building on smash 4 instead of meele, not that i dont like meele, played that game to death, is just that i prefer Smash 4, at least i can pick other characters and not being in a serious disadvantage | ||
